I have attached to GpuGrid and started running it on my single 8800GT.
My first unit has been running for 12.5 hours now and I am at 62.5% with a Cpu usage of about 12 min.
Does this sound right? I am running the 182.06 Nvidia Drivers on Boiinc 6.4.5
Did I forget to do any thing?
Oh yeah, I run 32 bit Win Xp Pro SP3 _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I'm running a GTX 260 Superclocked Edition with BIOS 181.22 and BOINC version 6.5.0 64 bit version on XP Pro64. I get about 11K per day.
here is the system I don't know if it'll help you figure out if your card is giving you what you should get but there it is. _________________

That's about even with my 8800GT. Pretty much anywhere from 12 - 15 hours per GPUGrid shrub. I haven't really looked around and compared with others though, so we both might be doing something wrong.

what wattage psu are you running on that box ? I've got a quad q6600 with an old nvidia 6800GTX on a 400w psu, I'm think I'd have to upgrade the psu if I get a 260?

I am running with a Rosewill 850 watt Power Supply. Power is not a problem with mine. I am quite sure that I can run the new cards with this PS
I was going to get the Rosewill 950 but the reviews said that it dimmed the lights in the house when you fired up your box. (not kidding) so I figured that 850 was probably enough. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Wow
My first unit has reported and got credit.
4214.28 for about 24 hours work. It took longer as I shut the project down when I was gaming.
Beats the Snot out of Seti Cuda. I have a RAC of 1444 and that includes that Astropulse stupidity.
Bye Bye Seti Again
So even if the new 9800's aren't any faster ( I am pretty sure they will be at least a little faster ) I should be able to get over 16K a day in GpuGrid _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

That's about the same as my 8800GT. It's been running for months and the RAC was around 4400 before I started running SETI on it for the past week or so. It's back on GPU now. _________________

Well, I am thinking that unless this result is out of the norm, that they should really take about ~17 hours each ( at least by my calculations, BxR=P ) and that should really produce some spectacular scores. I did shut it down a couple times to game so when I go back out to work for a week or 2, it will be unmolested and then it can really rock.
I can't wait for the 9800's to arrive _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

With those 9800's you are going to fly 17 hours is probably about right. That would be around 1 1/2 WU's a day and they typically range from +/- 2500 to +/- 3500 each. Once in awhile you'll get a longer one. _________________

Ok, I have just finished rebuilding my main box.
Phenom II 940......OCed to 3.4Ghz
Two EVGA 9800GTX+ running stock (not SLI)
4 Gig DDR2 1066
1.4 Terabites of Sata II storage goodness
MSI K9A2 Platinum
Rosewill 850 Watt Power Supply
I still have a 9800 and a 8800 that I will put in another board with a Phenom 9850 & 2 Gig memory tomorrow. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I don't know much about it either, but it's cheap I've got a laptop dual booting Ubuntu 8.04, but that's it so far. My next shrubber build will have to be some form of Linux though. I don't want to have the cost of an OS on top of the hardware cost. _________________

Be warned that GPUGrid doesn't seem to work for everyone on Linux. I tried for several hours to get it going on my Ubuntu with dual 8800 GT's and it wouldn't work on either of the cards. Others have had success with it, however.
If you do want to give it a try and you're new to Linux, definitely go with Ubuntu and get used to running commands using the Terminal instead of the GUI. If you're not worried about running GPUGrid on it, then after a while, you'll be able to just run command-line Linux without the GUI overhead. Before long, you'll be ready to compile a kernel like Gentoo. Sir Yankton was of great help when I finally took on the challenge!

I was about to write "lucky you" re: Licenses, then I read that you're out of beer. That's just sad _________________

The new 9800's are Defiantly faster.
I have 2 units running and they are 80% complete after 12 hours.
This will be about 15 hours per Wu, that's ~2 hours faster or 13%
I should have the other 9800 and the old 8800 up within the hour _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

512Mb DDR3 @1123Mhz
Edit: I have the new box up and running Windoze XP. It recognised that I had 2 video cards until I installed the Nvidia drivers, Now it only recognizes the 9800.
Do I need to install the driver twice?
Last night the comp auto installed both cards and just ran them, no issues... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......
