Have you had any consistent work from Aqua lately? I know they say they are down for maintenance, but I had three wu's yesterday and one or two a couple of days earlier. _________________

Yep, they said they will be down and since they went up again I got only a few WU, can't seem to get more, they probably experience some more problems...
Looking in the server status shows: Results ready to send 0, that might be the reason why we don't get any work...
I still have some WU that will take about 40-50 hours to crunch, quite annoying without checkpointing when in the last moment on the 99% mark the computer might get crazy and boot/close the application and 40-50 hours of work will be lost... _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Has anyone complained about the lack of checkpointing to them & have they responded to it? Since I can't leave my shrubbers on 24x7 forever, I had to stop shrubbing the project. If checkpointing was done, I would consider restarting the project. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Ofcourse, they're aware of the fact that lack of checkpointing is problematic to many users, they'll implement the checkpointing feature in the next release of their application... _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Have they decided when that will be? I would think that since it turns a lot of people off, they would hurry it along... _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Didn't see any schedule for this work, doesn't seem like they're much in a hurry... _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

That's too bad, credit is sweet there... project can still be suspended and stay in the memory while shrubbers doesn't shrub for it, just can't unload it from the memory in any way or the work is lost...
I think it's the best credit awarding project right now... _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

That's one of the reasons I want to get back to shrubbing it. Good science and good credit. I just don't have any shrubbers that are on 24x7 to avoid the lost work... _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I cut the project down to two machines that are on all the time because of this issue. _________________

I saw that, but the trickle doesn't make sense if they are really down for maintenance. I just wish they would update their news so we know what's going on. I hope you don't waste too much time re-running projects. _________________

I'm not spending too much time running this project... don't worry about that... you better detach yourself from this project and just let me pass you undisturbly... _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

I know this one! STAR WARS!!
Quote: | Stormtrooper: Let me see your identification.
Obi-Wan: [with a small wave of his hand] You don't need to see his identification.
Stormtrooper: We don't need to see his identification.
Obi-Wan: These aren't the droids you're looking for.
Stormtrooper: These aren't the droids we're looking for.
Obi-Wan: He can go about his business.
Stormtrooper: You can go about your business.
Obi-Wan: Move along.
Stormtrooper: Move along... move along. |
