|
|
When I log in, i want my computer to automatically open notepad.
I do not know how to do this. I was wondering if any of you knew
how to do what I do not. If so, please post step-by-step directions
for me for I am kind of slow when it comes to computers.
Thank-you, any of those who decide to help.
F.Y.I. this is a no-sillyness thread until I get the help I need. |

you need to write it in your system start up. I would use SpyBot S&D.
Install and go to the Advanced Mode and to go tools/system start up and click "insert". Create a new link to the current user and type Notepad in the box and then you must navigate to the notepad.exe and then it will start up at boot.
edit: If you don't know where the notepad.exe is, just right click the normal icon you use and select properties.
Spybot also has the added advantage of letting you uncheck the box later instead of deleting it. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Or you can copy the shortcut from accessories to the startup folder in your start menu. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

Yankoff beat me to it. If you look in the Start Menu (I presume you are using Windoze), go to "All Programs". When that comes up, you will find an entry (expansion menu) called StartUp. Put the shortcut there. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

seeing as they posted the serious answer....
tape the cover of your notepad to the CD drive drawer, so that when you push the button, the drive door slides open and *opens Notepad*
