If my sources are correct (and I must confess my sources are mostly SciFi stories about black holes, Niven, Pournelle, and Zahn IIR), then we aren't in any danger even if a black hole is created:
1) Small black holes evaporate very quickly due to Hawking radiation. To be stable for any length of time they require a great deal of mass - far more than the LHC ca provide.
2) Even if a small black hole didn't immediately evaporate it would still require thousands of years before it grows large enough to be any threat. This is because the radius of the event horizon would be (at first) far small than the nucleus of an atom, so it would grow very slowly (exponentially slow) at first. |

So what you are saying then is that there could already be one, just so small no one noticed it.
naaa....
i like Cow Tipping's theory better:

And he's so busy concentrating (after all, there's only so many things a fellow can think of at once - one should be enough for anybody!!) that he doesn't notice the "thing" heading for his (only too often) open mouth.....

LHC First Beam Test Image, All Systems Go for First Collision Event
This is the first groovy image produced by the Large Hadron Collider, showing some of the first protons accelerated today at 1028h Central European Time (0428h Eastern Time), the exact time when CERN scientists successfully fired up the LHC for the first time. As we told you earlier this morning, this wasn't the heads-on collision experiment, which will come later in the year. _________________
