Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
It's Thanks Giving man. I just had to have some of that gravy that MW is dishing out. I'm slowly winding into it so according to Boinc Stats you got about 18 days.(subject to change.) Better kick those puters!

Bring it on. You mention MW. You should also mention that they are running out of work rather rapidly because of the new optimized version. Good luck getting much work frm them. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Yea, I see that. It doesn't show up so bad on my p4 and celery but on the quad I see it. Of couse it's spitting them out at about 5 minutes each. Maybe they'll increase w/u production so they can keep all the beasts happy. _________________

I hope they crank up WU production. It has done wonders for my RAC, and help you off longer. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Hey John, since Sir Shrubbery lost the '08 election, maybe you wanna start on the '09 campaign.
Just a thought.

You are right Alpha. I might need to alter my post footer. Too much of a PGGB haze I guess .
I't been colder here. It's in the mid 40's right now, so it feel mild. Over the weekend it didn't get to 40, so we are starting to make that run to winter now. Withing the week I expect a high of 40 will be welcome.

Add more shrubbers! I've been out of town for the last 2 weeks (and hadn't started up my furnace yet). When I came home it was 24 deg, but the house was still a nice toasty (?) 59 deg thanks to the computers running.
I don't understand this temperature thing though. It was 24 deg when I went to the airport in Caracas, and 24 when I got home to Cleveland.. For some reason, the Venezuelan 24 degrees felt better! _________________

I've noticed an increase in your RAC. At least you're not gonna go down without a fight. Looks like we both took a nasty hit from MW. Are you getting work from them yet? _________________

Of course I am not going go down without a fight. The optimized version of MW helped lift my RAC (that plus my wife was off last week to get everything ready for Thanksgiving, so I was able to have the shrubbers at home on all day ).
I haven't gotten any WUs from MW in a couple of days. They keep saying on their message boards that they are doing things to speed up the WU generation, but everyone is telling them that they need to increase the WU lenght so the world isn't pounding them constantly for work. That would allow WUs to build up. They said that is on the agenda for their next meeting (to be held shortly).
Thankfully I had Poem (and now Seti) as a backup so the shrubbers aren't sitting idle while they figure out what to do. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

If you're running the the Milksop app. you need to shut down BOINC then go to your project folder for milkyway and delete the app info.xml file , then restart BOINC. You will download a new app Milkyway 0.4 and new work. Be advised that when you download work they will more than likely go into High Priority mode. The've increased the length of the work units 2.5 to 4 times as long. The credit issued doesn't seem to be quite as sweet either.
<edit> make sure you go into your memory usage prefrences in your BOINC manager and set it to leave apps in memory when suspended. Checkpointing is not working yet. They say it will be fixed soon. It sucks having work error out because BOINC switched apps in the middle of a work unit. _________________

Thanks Imcrazy,
I forgot about running optimized apps.
I still haven't got any work but at least now it is trying to dl the correct application.
NQueens has really kinda taken over my machine, I have hundreds of Wu's all on High Priority. Mabey I should look for an Optimized app for that?

You're very welcome.
What's the credit like there at NQueens. Looks like i'm gonna have to truly become a credit whore to get anywhere. At least semi quickly.
I've made my goal of top 100 in SETI on the team but still want 1,000,000 there. I'm only 51,000 from it. NI!I recently made the top 100 in BOINC Combined on the team NI!
<edit> @ Papa....On one of my machines I had to do a reboot in order for it to start downloading new work...? I don't know why but it did work. _________________
