LOL! I was about to give up at first, but eBay is truly a place where you can do some findings! I think this beats you!

A tip-o-the-hat to the frrst person to post the name of this machine. This is a reproduction. You can't go to the webpage
displaying the image and cheat, ok? See if you recognize the machine and post what name you think it's called, OK?
Anybody need a hint? _________________

http://www.antikythera-mechanism.gr/

More than a hundred years ago an extraordinary mechanism was found by sponge divers at the bottom of the sea near the island of Antikythera. It astonished the whole international community of experts on the ancient world. Was it an astrolabe? Was it an orrery or an astronomical clock? Or something else? For decades, scientific investigation failed to yield much light and relied more on imagination than the facts. However research over the last half century has begun to reveal its secrets. It dates from around the 1st century B.C. and is the most sophisticated mechanism known from the ancient world. Nothing as complex is known for the next thousand years. The Antikythera Mechanism is now understood to be dedicated to astronomical phenomena and operates as a complex mechanical "computer" which tracks the cycles of the Solar System. _________________

An early form of understanding the universe. That's definitely a predecessor to BOINC _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

It would be very interesting if it could be made to work again.
How accurate was their understanding of the heavens 2000 years ago?
Was it as good as the Maya (who were pretty good, if not quite as long ago? _________________ Creationists believe they never evolved; I agree with them.

Ancients weren't as unaware of astronomy as their dark ages counterparts had come to become (earth as flat, and all that jazz)... That's certainly smaller then stonehenge however....
There are a few odd artifacts to have come from the past, considering what they would seem to do however...
Leonardo Da Vinci has also been known to have conceived of a number of things, which were well ahead of his time, before being turned into something in the practical sense. For instance
