|
|
In case you haven't noticed at least some people are currently absent from the boards (for example Pooh). This is because, for the last 3 days, they have been unable to reach the server. I have no idea why but some people's packets are just being dropped in transit. I have the same problem from work but not from home. Packets always seem to be dropping while on the network of Global Crossing so I'm guessing they either have a routing problem or are having a peering dispute, possibly with Cogent. I don't really know how to go about trying to solve this problem... we may just be at the mercy of the internet |

I can access the forum at home, but failing from work.
Using tracert I can see that the home system is routing (successfully) via ntl then telia for the transatlantic hop and then onto onering.
From work the route fails after getting onto Global Crossing and making the transatlantic hop:

Yep, that is the exact same IP as mine and many others fail on. There is a thread about it on the seti@home message boards with more traces here |

Umm... I guess this is affecting more people than I initially thought. This place is dead! Sent an email to our contact today. He thinks it is likely a peering dispute but he is going to ask around and hopefully get some answers. |

If Telia is involved, there is no question who is to blame. |

I blame Mildew's peers, they were always trouble makers.

I have also not been able to log in to the main forums... well I have now but only by using 'Tor' which was recommended on the Outhouse by jonnyv... its been about a week or so that I have been trying to log in, unsuccessfully. I have Comcast for my internet... dunno if it that info might help _________________ Sir Latch of the Highlands

I can't get here either other than by a 'detour'. Papa Smurph isn't able to get here either for some time now. He writes:

That's what you get for trying to use a 404 Server, try using an Internet Server. _________________

Looks like I can get in via freeproxyserver.net but it messes up my posting/quoting a bit... |
