Greetings chaps,

Where do you keep your SOB team around here? We'd like to let them know that we're coming for their shrubbery.

Only about 75 days to go Very Happy maybe we should shave a few beards and knock off some helmets as we fly past Razz

Typical tourists. They show up, go to the wrong area and expect answers.

I've just had a poke around, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Sir Cod, complete with his famed piece, has already paid the Goobee forum a visit.

I also notice that Dr Vornoff has put in an SoB appearance.

Game on, chaps?

now Sir OhioMike has finally managed to pass me into 10th place in the Boinc only stats, I'm sure I could spare a core or two to this non boinc project...

Sir Al, are there any links & setup instructions around ?

A quick Google reveals http://www.seventeenorbust.com/, but I haven't done any digging.

Yet. Laughing

P.S. Judging by the scoring, Sir CadCam's the one who should be pointing us all in the right direction.

Not to worry, our team will give you a soft pat on the head as we go by. Very Happy

Err , sorry Sir GooBee , busy elsewhere . Didn't see this until now Embarassed
Give me 2 weeks , and I promise to respond in a "Mathematical" manor .
If you wish to prove your power (prowess) , try a non Boinc project and impress us Morons here . You need some savvy , not intermitant box numbers to compete there Very Happy . Ask Sir CadCam about that .

Apreciate the challenge - but KWSN has 3 (Three) going at the moment , SO you have a chance at that project ! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

But beware .

Regds dA-gRIZZlixx Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

EDIT : Ooops my mistake - you are in the non Boinc one Embarassed

PS : How about competin' in the Muon challenge , and then when KWSN is thrashed there , we will do SOB ?

if you're checking SOB stats you've probably just noticed a rather large ramp in my stats...... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

http://www.seventeenorbust.com/stats/users/user.mhtml?userID=14247

that's because I've just worked out how to run multiple instances...

and it's really simple

first setup as a service

run a command shell
cd "\program files\SB"
sobsvc -i

next setup how many instances you want to run

so for a quad core that runs two instances of sob spread accross all cpus
sobsvc -p:2:1

for four instances

sobsvc -p:4:1

etc...

now just start the service manually or just reboot the machine...

it's all in the ReadMeNT.txt file in the SB folder.

it does tend to eat more cpu that boinc. I need to read the file again on how I can share CPU resources equally.....

OK I've done soome digging and it looks lik the SOBN team are having issues with the domain they use for the results server

so there's a couple of ways out..

1) change host field after clicking the config button

to either

69.9.160.186

or

sb.qik.nl (which is a temporary DNS enrty)

2) edit the hosts file on your PC for the setting

69.9.160.186 sb.pns.net

(if you don't already know how to do this, use option 1

3) edit the registry value "serv_addr"'s data value to to either

69.9.160.186

or

sb.qik.nl

(if you don't already know how to do this, use option 1
