It did it again last night or this morning... in any case i came in today to find the host computer at a Black Screen of Death with a strange error message and a general protection faults... several reboots later I have the same problem. I've tried changing the ribbon cable and even plugging it into the secondary ribbon slot but no luck. I have used both Spinrite and WD utilities and, oddly, the hard drive tests perfectly fine. At this point it appears as if either the disk controller itself has failed or the motherboard is failing... or both. 
Adam from Lattice email me again asking me to temporarily disable the client... to which I informed him there is no need as it no longer functions.
