Dr Vornoff has just taken another place for KWSN in LLR for a 285 point jump in DC Vault .
He is out produvin' allmost everyone in his projects !
Sir AlDennte , try NOT to annoy him again (or maybe yes - we need help in some other projects )
I consider myself as a "Big Hitter" in KWSN , but , Dr V Blimey .
He has gone from nowhere to no 63 in LLr , from nowhere to no 223 in Muon , from nowhere to 219 in Leiden (another place gain today ) , from nowhere to 781 in Tanpsku , ALL in the last 3 weeks !!
Who is this guy !
Da-Grizz did not properly say hello when you joined KWSN , sorry , too full of my own production , but - err WELCOME Dr V !!
Bloody good shrubbin' Sir , please stay with KWSN , Dont't leave .

Dr. V.
Welcome. I did not have a chance to welcome you before. But better late than never. Keep up the great job for the betterment of KWSN. Maybe you will light a fire in us to do more shrubbing. _________________ |----Ni---Ni----|

I have been following this thread with almost complete lack of interest lately, However I just decided to look at the stats to see what yall were talking about and WOW!!!!!!
27 shrubbers all with active credit, almost all are far better than my best.
The good Dr. is moving up at an average of 28,183 positions per day.
I feel so inadequate _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

At least you have a chance of holding him off for a while...the best I can hope for is to stain the bottom of his shoes as he squashes me. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

When I win the lotto the power company will need to install a sub-station just for my farm, which will spend the majority of it's time between thrashing you in every DC project ever made and sending you taunting emails from HAL9K@AlGotBorged.com. Maybe I'll go take a stress pill a lie down instead. |
ROFL! I especially like the "HAL9K" part! _________________

It's all relative, and I think we're all doing the best we can. I haven't brought my server back up, but I think I've fixed the hinkyness in my "new" cheapo P4 box by hooking up a new PSU (which I had as a spare, because I bought two, because they were such an incredible deal). The only problem is the PSU doesn't really fit the case, so I have to figure out where to go from here.
I also just got done with a HDD format and reinstall on my son's A64 3200+ Venice box. It seems to be working considerably better now, and I was even able to get the BOINC stuff put back on it with no problem (knock wood!).
Anyway, I noticed that your RAC is more than 10 times what I'm able to manage nowadays.
I was running about 1200, and technically with less shrubbing power, and that was before SETI decided to get stingy with credits. When the server was running, it was doing some decent RAC with the chicken app shrubbing through four PIII Xeons. Now - not so much.
I think it was JerWA that observed that all those new C2Ds and Quads being attached to BOINC were going to make it hard to hold one's place in the standings, and I'm beginning to see just how astute that observation was. Between that factor and SETI's decision, I'm basically trying to tread water in a rip tide.
Oh, well, I'm doing my best here.
I haven't seen a post from the most wonderful and venerated Dr. V on this thread, and perhaps he's made some sport out of squashing you like a proverbial bug? Who knows? If this has all served as some sort of prompt for him to crank up that monster farm (which is to my farm what the King Family Ranch is to my backyard garden), is that a bad thing?
In a figurative sense, I'd cheerfully throw myself under the wheels of that shrubbing juggernaught for that kind of spike in our team production numbers. _________________

I'd almost forgotten about this thread (deliberately?), but thanks for reminding me.
It would seem that the Good Doctor prefers deeds to words - he's about to pass me in Leiden , I've just added a bit more to Tanpaku in a (probably vain) attempt to stave him off , I've got a couple of month's head start in RCN , but he'll pass me eventually and he's blowing everyone out of the water in Riesel LLR .
He's already moved up to 340th (out of nearly 3000) in the team, with another 50 places due this week, probably top 200 by Xmas. 155K in <40 days is pretty impressive shrubbing from a standing start; that's 1.5 million a year.
I could put all my efforts into those projects and hold him at bay, but that would mean abandoning Lattice, Poem, TSP et al, which I don't want to do, so I think his revenge for my taunt will be complete relatively soon. _________________ Creationists believe they never evolved; I agree with them.

I Borged 4 boxes and purchased a new 5 port router ( Makes 7 ports now ) so I now have 9 boxes running ( in theory ) However only 6 are remotely reliable. Just so I can keep a current rac of 1200.
It should come up soon, about a month ago had trouble ( mine and various projects ) and got less than 1k per day in 12 out of 15 days and 7 days were 0 credit.
I am going to build a new comp in January after prices come down ( hopefully 3 mabey 4 duplicate systems ). I am trying to decide if I should go amd or intel. Much harder than it sounds. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Sure does, doesn't it.

Yeah, I know. One of those "come back here, I'll bite you ankles!" bits. I've done similar things myself. Whatever his motivation, the good Dr. is certainly capable of doing some rather impressive shrubbing. _________________
