That's a whole lot of shrubbery. Have you trimmed it lately?

Yeah, you can clearly see the difference multi-core machines make. Back in 2004 I had 5 or 6 machines crunching. Now I've got 7, so it's not a huge difference in numbers. But of those 7, 4 are multi-core, and all 7 are way more powerful than my best machine in '04 was hehe. I'm doing about as much in a month now as I did in all of 2004.
I don't know if I'll be able to break 1,000,000 for the year or not. The quad that just came online isn't full time (or mine), so, it's unreliable as far as contribution goes. Some days it doesn't even do as much as my dedicated dual cores hehe (which are all slower per-core, insult to injury).
If all goes to plan I'll be gainfully employed in the next 30-90 days, and then all bets are off. The current lowliest machine will likely be retired (P4 1.3), with the XP 3k taking it's place, my current Core 2 Duo E6400 replacing that, and the quad replacing that (my personal system). The plan is to have the quad added by the end of the year, which means the new Penrynn CPUs will be out. I don't know yet if they will be affordable or not, but Intel says they're going to release for every market at once (i.e. entry level dual cores, higher end quads, and server series), so maybe I'll be building one of those instead of a Q6600 or 6700.
Either way, next year should be even bigger and better. Gotta love modern technology (for the 15 minutes it stays modern, anyways). _________________

By the time you get it home and get it unwrapped it is already obsolete.
My "number 1" system of 3 years ago is now a space heater I use as a foot warmer in the winter only (P4 Prescott). _________________
