After much deliberation, I've started the boincer up again. Fan still hasn't been fixed but it seems to be handling a WCG AIDS shrub and ABC@home shrubs okay without overheating and cracking up...the side is still off and a pedestal fan is still strategically placed beside it. When the house is sold and we've moved etc I'll get it fixed properly.

With the fan on it whenever it is on it should be ok.

Yeah, a normal desktop fan moves exponentially more air than standard case /cpu fans.
