A somewhat new BOINC project. I have been shrubbing this for a little while. A WU seems to take about 30 minutes and you get a flat 10 points each WU right now.

Only two people part of KWSN at the moment.

Hash collisions, just like hash clash was I think. Essentially it's looking for a way to break cryptography. Most passwords are hashed mathematically to create a value that can be checked when you enter your password again (i.e. same password should output the same hash value). A hash collision is when two different inputs (i.e. passwords) result in the same hash value. In effect, it makes the algorithm think the correct password has been entered when it has not.

It's not exclusive to passwords, that's just a convenient example. It's also valid research, because hash collisions should never happen, and indicate a flaw in the algorithm that represents a security hole.

I was involved in HashClash until they decided to disappear and leave the country it seems.
