Magnifique.
I'm a bit further than Sir Cracked, but still in (or on?) my way to get there. _________________

Congratulations
So many shrubs in one area I think you must have a forest on your hands.

Fantastic.
You've just achieved my next 2 major ambitions - the top 0.1% and the top 1000; I should be there around the end of October.

I've just ordered a core 2 quad 6600 to replace my E6300 from ebuyer for £240...
if the swap out all works OK I'll get a basic core2 mobo for the 6300...

you may have to run faster to catch up!

At the moment I'm just about keeping pace with you, albeit about 1,000,000 behind, but who knows what the future holds?
BTW, I had a few problems with my Q6600. I originally mistakenly got a 945 chipset M/B, but that didn't support the Quad, so I had to replace it with a 965 (Asus P5B-VM).
Then the bl**dy machine decided to reboot itself every couple of hours - I found the chip was running at ~60C (limit 60.4C!), so a massive Thermaltake Typhoon was installed and this now runs in the low 40's.
The only decision left now is do I abandon the £35 945 M/B and continue with the plan for quads only from now on, or build a core-2 6600 and use it to play with Linux and overclocking?
Decisions, Decisions. _________________ Creationists believe they never evolved; I agree with them.

got the quaddy up and running.... temps are around 55C with the stock cooler.... I might have to invest in another fan...
be carefull with 945 chipsets they have a stock max fsb of 800..... core2s run at 1066....
try and pickup a cheap 900 series pentium dually and all should be ok.....
now what do i do with that spare 6300....

A lot of us must be thinking like that. I just bought a Mac Pro with the Dual Core2 Xeon's. The price on the Quads is supposed to drop soon, so money available, the Mac gets a pair of Quad Xeon's and motherboard "X" gets the 2 Xeon 5150's.
PS- Al, I agree that top 0.1% is the holy grail! _________________
