Although the new French prez said France nneds to be more like the US....working more, finding solutions instead of complaining about the porblem....basically he was saying they need to get off their lazy French @$$es and get to work if they want France to mean something again.

They've spent too many years waiting for others to come up with ideas and then half-heartedly putting them into action ( between un verre du vin and another). I think this "screw everyone else we've got nuclear weapons and like sinking Greenpeace ships" mentality and the sitting au café all day saying "he haw he haw je suis he haw travaille, ha!! he haw he haw" is one of the basic reasons why us Brits. and the French have always been at loggerheads. If they want to run a country seriously, they just have to look North, East and West...not South because Italy's in the brown stuff way up over their heads, even worse than them!!

Over here it is called the "Puritan work ethic" (Description).
Mainly something referring that you need to keep working to get ahead.

More commonly known as the Protestant work ethic. Blinkin' French are 3/4 Catholic and the Italians..... well...
