They're baaaack!
Some of you may remember the story of the feral neighbours. Well it's Friday the 13th and they're back.
They disappeared off the radar...almost...just after Christmas. A couple of the kids have been back to the house a couple of times during the last few months to look for stuff.
This morning a couple of the boys were there again, smashing things and yelling about stuff being stolen. One of them came and knocked on my door and asked me if I had seen anyone at the house. Remember this is the house with almost no windows left because they've smashed them. Anyway, I told him that the only person I've seen there is the owner of the house, and if they have any problems they'll have to see him. Mind you, the owner has only appeared a couple of times in the last six months and he hasn't even bothered mowing the place.
A couple of hours later, the mother turned up with a load of stuff going into the house. She whinged and complained about the electricity being turned off, yelled about stuff that was stolen etc etc. (I reckon it was probably people stealing their own stuff back from the ferals.)
We looked up the phone number of the owner of the house and my mother called him and asked if he realised that they were moving back in. He told my mother that they had told him they were going back to get their furniture out. My mother told him that they were definitely taking stuff in, not out. He said he'd be around today. Never turned up. &^&$$%$^%^&$%^$%&^
They've gone to bed early tonight because the poor poppets had a big day moving back in. Tomorrow night and every night from then will be a nightmare. We have the tape recorder ready to tape them and play it for the police.
It looks like the chances of selling my house have now dropped to -1%. _________________ My brain hurts.

OH NO!!!!!!!
If the place is as much of a mess as you have described in the past, how the @^@$#^#&$@# can they tell if stuff is missing? It might be under a pile of broken glass.
If the owner doesn't actually show up (maybe he did and is buried in the back yard) be ready to call the police again (& again) if necessary. Your SAFETY (and the safety of your family) is your primary concern right now.
I am not saying you should do anything, but thee are ways to open up the lot that house sits on.

I thought they were going to to that last time they lived in the place. The boys were always starting fires, in and out of the house. Then I thought the owner might turn up in the middle of the night and do that after they'd moved out. Apparently he had wanted to knock the dump down and build a new house but he can't because it's so old and is heritage listed. It would cost a small fortune to repair and restore because it's pretty much unliveable. Still no sign of the owner, but I was thinking that if the ferals have moved back in on the sly and decided to squat, he may have to get court orders etc to get them out. I don't know what the law is over in the U.S. but here it's almost impossible to get squatters out and can sometimes take years.

Isn't it awful when you've got crappy neighbours. At least your noisy polish students might have been a bit more interesting and educated than these. They are totally feral. One kid pees on everything, even in the house and car, and he's a teenager not a toddler. The language is disgusting - "Shut the 'f' up, you 'effin' 'c' or I'll smash your head in." etc, and that's just the mother. One of the boys has said a number of times that he's going to kill my dog. That's because she gets really stressed when they're fighting and smashing things and she barks at them. They are really bad news, and that's why it's totally horrific to see them come back. Normally I would feel sorry for a woman who has been left on her own with four kids after her husband has died, but from what I've heard from people who knew her husband, he was a crook who was always pinching stuff from other people and the family has always been like this. _________________ My brain hurts.

Weenie Roast.....it will solve a lot of problems.
They move out again, the owner gets to rebuild & you property value goes up (helpful as you go to sell) _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Rain is good! I had neighbours like that years ago. They decided that since it was raining and they wanted to bar-b-q some ribs, that they would do so on their front porch. By the time the fire department was done, the problem was solved! _________________

They sound as crazy as this lot, ohiomike.
Well! My mother thought she heard an angry man's voice over there yesterday (Saturday), but couldn't be sure. Today they were in and out again all day, and the things that were being taken into the house on Friday and Saturday were starting to disappear today. We all held our breath and waited to see what the outcome would be, and started to breath again when we realised that they really were gone....after they emptied everything out of the house and then hosed it. Yep, they hosed the house to clean it. I did hear the mother say that they had to clean the walls. It would only take about five minutes and she didn't want to give the old 'c' anything else to whinge about. I don't know what the owner said to them or threatened them with but he must have really put the wind up them because they did some mowing too.
That is one family I never want to be in the same town with again. _________________ My brain hurts.

Sounds like you're had a bit of luck there, I think we're all had the problem of bad neighbours, I moved and doubled the rent I pay to get rid of mine.
Good Luck. |

Party? At my house? A bunch of looneys?
Sir Cracked - You moved and paid double the rent? I suppose it was worth it. That's one good thing about renting and if I was renting here, I probably would have done the same thing. The worst thing about owning the place is that you're stuck with it and have to rely on the state of the real estate market before you can move.
If we'd moved up here to Charters Towers and rented first, we probably would have left about a year ago. _________________ My brain hurts.

I wouldn't say that until the party is over......
We can have it in the NFH house. No one will blame you for it. They will think they are back, that's all. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!
