According to the message boards over at SETI (Read it here) there is an issure with the Chicken's app. Since the problems have been resolved over there anyone running the opt. app. has not been able to get/send any WUs.

The people on the boards have recommended renaming the app_info.xml file and updating the project (SETI). They say it will bring in the latest SETI app and start crunching again.

Has any one heard anything about this or know what is going on?

Is anyone here able to do any SETI work with the opp. app. right now?

I'm having lots of problems with SETI. Don't know the reason, but I can't get new WU's downloaded, no matter wether I have the app_info or not.
The worst, I'm a computer dummy, so I'm lost. Luckily, Rosetta and Einstein are working fine. I'm thinking about abandoning SETI and joining WCG instead.
Excuse me mohrorless I use your post to talk about my problems, but I'm feeling so frustrated.......

I think everyone on the planet is frustrated by SETI right now. They had a sertver crash at the beginning of the month & it took them 2 weeks to get a new one and get it back up. THEN no one could get any work for a few days, then some work went out then no work went out and no one could send any of the work back...it's still a huge mess and I think that SETi is going to be hurt for quite a while over this.

I renamed the app_info file, and I still crunch using Chicken. I even updated to 5.9.11 to see what kind of changes that might do.

It did download the old application when I renamed this file, but I still am doing them fast.

On the other hand, I can not connect to BETA at all.

The problem is with the server code they changed during last Tuesdays maintenance. It caused lots of problems they are still working on, including the optimized app issue. There is no real fix at the moment, all of them are temporary and some of them cause problems. The only safe bet is to go to the non optimized application for now or suspend SETI until it's fixed.
