Well, do not know yet as these are the first new Astropulse units. Will have to wait for a while as people have not returned yet many results, and the credits have to be given manually. Anyway, Astropulse is really a project in alpha stage, but it is a very very interesting project. It has to do with finding black holes at a certain stage of their lives. _________________

Well at least for now I give up.
I have had it with units that crunch for 6 to 8 Thousand seconds and sometimes up to 50 Thousand seconds and then error out. Besides my rac is down to under 900 and falling fast. Mabey when they fix the code I will return.
I am just going to stick with a project I know for now but I will be searching more as I have time. I am switching all my machines to WCG. We are getting our Rosie Irish Butts kicked there. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Yeah, we were never producing much on WCG, they're very stingy on the BOINC credits (oddly they're overly generous with their own, if you look at their points vs what you get in BOINC for the same work). I pulled everything to SIMAP but the work just ran out today, so my WCG machine will be active on that project again soon.
Right now my 3 "big" machines are all still on SIMAP, but are working down through their queued work. All but one will go back full time to their normal projects as soon as they're done with the SIMAP work, and one will stay active on SIMAP looking for pickup credits while waiting for SETI to return.

The machine that was crunching the new Einstein units in 40+ hours ( 56 estimated ) and getting 519 credits just got 170 boinc credits for about 12 hours work in WCG ( 3 units ). I don't think that is too bad considering that it used to be about 1/2 the credit to do WCG.
Ps: The biggest problem is that there is really nobody to taunt in WCG.

Has anyone else noticed more client errors with the big WUs? I had amybe 2 since I joined, now with the big ones I have seen a LOT more. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I had Einstein paused for the last 10 days or so, but it's running now with some 20hr WUs. They aren't that far under credit, they're dead on the predictions.
Over - Success - Done - 75,883.78 - 388.65 - pending
Over - Success - Done - 74,753.30 - 390.18 - 390.18
Over - Success - Done - 72,736.73 - 390.26 - 390.26
Over - Success - Done - 39,302.23 - 205.11 - 205.11
Over - Success - Done - 48,347.42 - 255.26 - 255.26
75,883.78 seconds = 21.08 hours / 388.65 credits = 18.44 credits/hr.
48,347.42 seconds = 13.43 hours / 255.26 credits = 19.01 credits/hr.
BoincView estimates that machine at 25 credits/hr, but that's for TWO cores. Aren't you glad nobody runs straight BOINC credit rates?
So it looks like the credit rate hasn't changed any for me, unless they were over-granting before and now they're just on the standard numbers. I've not had any work units error out that show on my results page. They are big work units though, could it be a resource problem? The other problem with such big WUs is every time you exit BOINC there's a chance, however small, that it'll puke the WU. That's why I dropped CPDN, like an 80% failure rate on WUs. _________________

Maybe that's the reason. The WUs are so long that it is more likely that the PC will be shut down during the shrubbing. That opens up more opportunities for the WU to get a problem. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I have one that crunched for 17 hours and is at 100% then just sat there for 40 hours and would not let another start until I suspended it. It just won't finish. I have restarted both Boinc and the Comp to no avail....
Edit: I just upgraded to 5.8.16 and it finished in about 10 seconds and uploaded .52 days late and I still got credit _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

You are a little lacking in the Einstein dept.
