I'm not a serious drinker #Lil angel I would sometimes have a Kahlua and Milk when out, and maybe a Captain Morgan... okay and even a Vodka Martini. I got the Vodka Martini idea from James Bond [remembers all those Bond films]. Bailey's I never got around to trying for some reason. Surprised

When the wife and I went to Ireland, Bailey's was the only thing I was drinking over there. Since I am not much of a drinker I wasn't going to hit the hard stuff too much and since they don't know what cold means, you can't get an icy beer over there. I stuck with Bailey's and ice. #Beer

Although I'm not a heavy drinker, I've done some excesses in my past student life.

I most like Bailey's, Amaretto and rarely Vodka Orange. A Limoncello is very good after dinner or in the hot summer evenings. It is an Italian liqueur.

I'll have to give Bailey's a try one of these days Idea . The thing about warm beer is, that it's the best way to tell if it has a good true malty flavor. The coldness can disguise that. But in any case, i couldn't really drink a warm beer.

I'm not the biggest of beer drinkers and NO ONE will confuse me with a beer connesouir(?). The one thing I do want in my beer is coldness.

I'm not much of a drinker myself, and a cask of cheap red will usually last me about a month. (My mother can go through a cask of cheap white in a week. Laughing ) I sometimes have a glass of wine or two when I'm cooking dinner and that's about it.
We have a bottle of bubbly for a birthday.
I did like Bundaberg rum until I overindulged on my 21st birthday Embarassed , and I do like a nice scotch with ginger ale. Beer only if it's a light one and icy cold on a stinking hot day.

Captain Morgan isn't bad from what I can remember. It's been a lot of years since I had it and it does have a different flavour to Bundy rum. Kahlua is yummy!! I used to buy a small bottle occasionally back in the old days when I could afford it. Laughing Tia Maria and milk is good too.
Years ago I had a recipe for a Tia Maria fudge cake. You know how it is...a bit in the cake, a bit in the tummy. Laughing The cake was huge, like a party cake for about a million people, and so rich that you could only have a really small piece but it was good. Lost the recipe and I haven't found it. since. Confused

A nice 250 ml bottle of Bacardi 151 for the cold and a 6-pack of icy-cold (left out in the snow) Mooseheads for the Bacardi ... but that was high school days in Solebury, PA ... today I'm serious about my sobriety if not my sanity ...
well, that's not exactly true either ... as anyone who knows boinc about statistics will agree that the range for sanity (aka "normal") is rather dehumanizing ... guess that's why we play here!

* There is a knock at the door and a loud announcement " Delivery for Lady Michelle!!!" Cautiously the door is opened and a delivery person steps in and asks for Michelle. She is pointed out by the crowd in the room. The delivery person brings in a large box and places it on a table in front of Michelle. After having her sign assorted delivery forms the delivery person leaves.

Michelle contemplates the box from all angles before opening it with gusto.

Here is what she finds:

And the card reads:
"Happy Birthday Michelle! Celebrate the Day! Love, Your Friends in the Not-So-Snobby Room!"

And it turns out to be Michelle's favorite type of cake. Wink

Oh, please. We (the non-snobby group) sent Michelle a cake and bottle of bubbly to celebrate her Birthday.

Yes, indeed, us non-snobby settled down types don't go in for such antics. Nice idea about the bubbly + cake

And this should keep her happy for a couple of hours:

You went to Ireland and didn't at least try some actual Irish Whiskey instead of the mangled mass that is Baileys? Though in fairness you can make a pretty fair Ice Cream out of Baileys. Just have to be careful on the amount as it makes it harder to freeze the mix.

A nice glass of bubbly would go down well at the moment, after working hard in the yard this arvo.

Shocked

I don't know which cake to cut first. They both look so yummy!!

I may have. It was 9 years ago and I don't remember every minute of the trip. We spent a week on a tour and a week with the in-law's families (both my wife's parents are from Ireland). I do remember drinkig a bit though. Had some Irish coffee that was stronger than anything then I have ever tasted. Also got to like Bunratty Mead a lot on that trip too. #Beer

If you have been working hard then have a few bottles, after all it's St. Patrick's Day!

Bunratty Mead if I remember is technically a honey wine not truly mead, but tasty for all of that. And before anyone yells at me that Mead is a honey wine the Bunratty(spelled wrong but Im to lazy to look up the proper spelling) is a flavored white wine rather than a properly fermented straight from honey mead.
I have to go back a few more generations to hit ancestors there than your wife does but I still love the country, everyones incredibly friendly there.

Grabs a coke and sits down to watch Adonis cleaning out the hot tub filter.
