During the last two days, several tasks are showing "waiting to un" in the status column, but they are frozen. Some are at 99%, others have just begun. This is different from "ready to start", of course. Has any one else noticed this new status? I also am still unable to get climateprediction to update: the constant message is "scheduler request failed; server returned nothing". Last update was February 21. Should I abort or reset? _________________

"Waiting to run" is the new message that the latest BOINC Manager shows instead of "Preempted".
Which BOINC processes are in this state? _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

I have seen Proteins 'hang' at both the start and very end of a WU run. No idea why, but in most cases it does eventually seem to finish.
I have never run Tanpaku but used to run Proteins, although I have stopped Proteins because of the very problem you mentioned. _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

Thanks, I will be patient for a while. And just to make you feel good, the mimosa and almond trees are in full bloom, the sun is shining and the birds are singing their hearts out, just like in Nunavut... _________________

I will see your mimosa & almond trees and raise you a wind chill of -27C, 10mm of freezing rain (from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm today) and wind gusts to 110 kph. _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

I surmise you do not live in the civilised country of Canada or in any one of the other 95% of the world that have been using the sensible system of metric measurements for several hundred years now. _________________

I measure everything in hands and stones. Occasionally fuhrlongs. I reserve cubits for when I'm feeling particularly randy. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

Allow me to translate.
10 mm = 0.0984251969 hands
110 kph = 0.151890736 furlongs per second
-27C = -2 Stones _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

Allow me to translate.
10 mm = 0.0984251969 hands
110 kph = 0.151890736 furlongs per second
-27C = -2 Stones-
Ermm not to contradict your perfec' Maff , but 1 hand = 4" therefore 10 MM = 2/5" (ish)
110 kmh = 68 3/4 miles/hr (ish) , = 550 furls , = 1527????(ish) further/sec
I have no dissagreement with your Stones though (+ - 0.025 in °C - not °F ) - that would be different

and we lucky kids born in civilized countries were taught in third grade that 1 cubic decimetre of water at 4°C weighed 1 kg and was equivalent to 1 litre. Try that in the avoirdupois system. _________________

how many bushels in a barrel? British or American? Fluid or weight? Whe'n I am in the kitchen I go bananas! Do you know that imperial measures are defined in metric? As in a (nautical, land, or take your pick) mile is so many metres. Only the metric measure of distance is legally and scientifically defined.
So there. _________________
