Restaurant Says It Has World's Largest Burger
123-Pound Burger Costs $379
CLEARFIELD, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania restaurant thinks it has a winner. A Guinness World Record winner, that is.
Chefs at the Clearfield eatery said they've created the world's largest hamburger, all ready to order right off the menu.
Weighing in at 123 pounds, this giant burger features an 80-pound beef patty, a 30-pound bun, 12 tomatoes and 160 slices of cheese. Denny's Beer Barrel Pub also throws on a pound each of lettuce, ketchup, mustard and mayo -- and up to five onions.
The menu price for the Beer Barrel Main Event Charity Burger comes to $379.
The pub plans to submit paperwork to Guinness World Records this week.
The owner, Denny Leigey, said he came up with the idea of the giant burger through an "evolution of burgers."
"Starting with a 1/4 pound in 1977 and a friendly race with another eatery in Clearfield," he said. "1991 began the larger burgers a 2 pound and a 3 pound in 1993."
And, he said, the rest is history

Anyone remember what the classic sized drink was before we all started going insane? I know a traditional serving was 8 oz but Im somehow thinking the fast food places started at 12 oz. Either way if you call a traditional burger a 1/4 lb patty this one is 320 times normal size. Meaning your drink would be 2560 oz. I wonder if it comes with its own hand truck? _________________

I don't know.....it works out to be a bit over 15 gallons of soft drink....I think that's pretty much a Keg....I could hoist that up onto ye olde shoulder and spare the hand truck....
Now all I need is a vacuum hose attachment for a straw..... _________________

I'm not sure about the one shoulder thing though in this case. I mean with a normal burger fine and dandy but keep in mind this one is pushing 150 lbs by the time we've added a reasonable amount of bacon. Thats got to be close to a two hander. _________________

Where the @%@#^&@#*@#% are the pickles? You will need around 10 pounds of those. And long sleeves too.....or maybe napkins instead. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Oh yuck, no. Pickles on the side if anything, never actually touching the burger itself . I am totally willing to go Spanish Inquisition on this point as well. _________________

Well, then you can leave the pickles off your side of the burger. I happen to love them on there. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Side? Whats this about sides? Does this imply you don't think you could finish yours in a single sitting? I fear nothing and expect I could defeat wee burger blindfolded. _________________

Fine you can have your own. WITHOUT pickles if you insist. Just know that when I finish my burger I will be able to taunt you because my burger weighed more. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Indeed not. I will happily match your foul pickles stone for stone with your choice of either more bacon or guacamole. _________________

MORE BACON?!?!?!?!? I thought we were getting ALL the bacon on the burgers. You may ingest the 10 pounds of guacamole if you wish. Of course if they have guacamole, then we might also want some chips on the table too....
Does anyone know if that come with fries? _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Is the bun Sesame seed? Needs more onion and British chips none of that Frenchie fried rubbish, bacon is good and cheese would be nice.
No stinking lettuce I'll have none of that health food/Rabbit food garbage!

French Fry refers to the cut of the potato not the country of origin (the potatos are frenched (When vegetables such as beans, peppers or potatoes are cut into long thin strips, the preparation process refers to the vegetables as being "frenched")).
Heaven knows the french couldn't come up with anything that good on their own. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I suggest they have a room devoted to condiments of our choice. Pinapple, ham, mayonaise, tabasco, grilled onions, etc. Comeplete with a large scoop shovel.
People have so many varied tastes in burgers, who are we to deny them flavo(u)ring it to their liking. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.
