Well, I finally dropped this project from my main rig. Seems like every new app version they put out introduced more problems. For instance, they released a version to fix erroring work units, of which I'd had none, and then I started getting erroring work units. They released a version to fix popups stalling BOINC, of which I'd had none, and then I started getting popups that would freeze BOINC (and still was, which is why I dropped it). There's also the credit snafu. So, I'll be waiting in the wings for a week or two and then rejoin.

In the mean time, Rosetta is getting some lovins.
