I have WCG BOINC and 2 PC's and WCG on 1 PC. Will this cause problems with my scores/credits? I can't run BOINC on my basement PC it really causes it to ssslllloooowwww down real bad even with adjusting the % usage.

So am I OK with running it this way? #ni-2

I am running BOINC with all projects on just 2 PCs and I'm fine. So I think you'll have no problems.

If I understand the question right, you're running Grid on the basement computer. Won't cause a problem. Your WCG score from that system won't reflect in your BOINC points, but it will get you credit at WCG and they will all add together.

It's also possible to get BOINC to play nicer as well. Instead of just adjusting the %, set it to run only when the machine is idle, and to unload suspended work. On my oldest machine, the problem wasn't the CPU usage (because there was none, I had it set to idle only), it was that there wasn't enough RAM on the box for it to run well with a 200+ MB app loaded in the background (even without it using CPU time).

Otherwise, yeah, what shrubbery said. You could setup a free-dc sig (I could help if you needed it) and it would show all your points from all the projects, regardless of if they were BOINC or not hehe.

Oky doky, but as I warned, this is much more involved than BOINCStats hehe.

1) Go to http://free-dc.org/ and create an account.

2) (after your account is active and you're signed in) go to http://stats.free-dc.org/statstool.php

You will get an ugly page that's a huge list of projects and such.

3) Near the top is a drop-down for Team. Scroll through the list and pick The Knights Who Say Ni!

4) For each project you run, BOINC or not, you will need your user id. Typically, if you go to that projects page, and then your own stats, there will be a number in the URL. For example, on Majestic 12, the URL to someones stats looks like this http://www.majestic12.co.uk/projects/dsearch/userinfo.php?id=1472 (that one is mine). Notice id=1472? That number, 1472, is what you need from ALL of your projects (and it will be different for each one).

For F@H your id on Free-DC doesn't follow the norm because F@H uses names, which are not unique, to track stats. <sigh> That said, your code should be:
Code:
alpha_fruitThe+Knights+Who+Say+Ni%21

Put that into the box next to Folding@Home on the statstool page, make sure the check box is checked, and click the Update button. Your preview sig at the top should change to show the project, and your stats. If the values are 0's, the ID isn't right. If that happens, try taking the %21 off the end and replacing it with !. If it still doesn't work, let me know and I'll figure it out.

For Rosetta (BOINC) it's 84971. Add that to the appropriate spot, update.
For WCG (BOINC) it's 281001. Add that to the appropriate spot, update.
For WCG (if you're still running the non BOINC one) it should (there's that should again) be the same as the one for F@H above.

If you have other stats you want me to add, let me know.

5) After you have all your ID's entered, there are some options in the statstool that you'll want to change. Here's the list:
Custom Title: This shows as the top line of your sig. Most people use it for their name and team, ex: JerWA - The Knights Who Say Ni!

Show Team... Score, Score Today, Rank: These make your sig wider, but in my opinion also make it really cluttered and hard to understand. I turned them all off, but it's personal preference.

Boinc Cross Project ID: Not sure why they want this, but it can't hurt. Yours is 354d2ad30018a74280e33a7a4ed81c55.

DCR Rankings: No impact on your sig etc, it's just a different tracking method (sort've like BOINCstats, but for all projects). You can enable or not as you wish.

Create Static Image: Check it! This option makes it output a real file, which we need for most forums (including here) to use as a sig.

Update again, and... tada, you're done!*

6) To use your new spiffy sig, the image tag is:
Code:
[img]http://stats.free-dc.org/images/name.png[/img]

'name' will be your Free-DC user name, and it is case sensitive.

Here's mine:

*: Unless you want to change colors and such, but you're on your own for that. I hate their color system.

I did everything you listed above, BUT this is what I get when I have this in my sig line:
Code:
[img]http://stats.free-dc.org/images/john mohr.png[/img]

[img]http://stats.free-dc.org/images/john mohr.png[/img]

The space is breaking that for sure. Either it will be %20, or more likely Free-DC is using a different user name for you. It should be the exact name you used for your Free-DC account.

It will also take ~30 minutes for it to show up after you create your account because they only update the image every 30 minutes. The dynamic page should update instantly though.
Code:
http://stats.free-dc.org/users/users.php?name=xxxxxx

With xxx = your name. johnmohr and john%20mohr (i.e. john mohr) don't work on that page, so I suspect your username isn't that. Any idea what you used?

I'm having a hard time getting user stats to come up, or I could find it that way.

I actually used "John Mohr" (with the space) as my user name. I had no problems with it on any of the other BOINC sites, so I figured I would keep it consistant.

First problem is that I said it's case sensitive. John Mohr != john mohr.

Second problem is I have no idea how it's going to cope with that space. None of the usual URLs work. Are you sure you've gone into the statstool config thing and saved it (by clicking update)?

John, here's what you can do.

Go to the stats config tool on free-dc. At the top there should be a preview of your sig. Right click it, choose properties. It should have a name= tag at the end, and that's the one you need to use hehe.

I have a small box under my F@H stats. Do I need to wait 30 minutes or so?

Is that your name on Free-DC? The dynamic page doesn't show any stats.

http://stats.free-dc.org/tag.php?name=alpha_fruit

It should look like (or at least have stats):
http://stats.free-dc.org/tag.php?name=JerWA

When you configure it (in the stats config tool) does it show stats at the top of the page (your preview)? If so, right click it, hit properties, and copy the whole URL and paste it here.

What do you mean nothing happens? Are you logged in to Free-DC? Do you see the preview sig at the top?

When you go to the stats tool, the page should look something like:

Is that what you see? Does it have your name? Does it show your id's (with check marks next to them)? Is there a sig at the top of the page?

You two are really having a hard time with this, but I'm willing to keep at it until it's working.

I don't get nothing but my name up there and then nothing else. No ID's or nothing.

Ok, if you type something in the first project id field (doesn't matter what), it should add a check automatically. Click Update. Does the sig at the top appear/change/etc? Does the project id field blank or keep the stuff you typed after you hit update? (Mind you I mean the update button on the page, not refresh in your browser!)

I get the same thing AND I AM LOGGED IN TO FREE DC TOO.

I noticed that above the sig I am getting this error/message:
Quote:
1136: Column count doesn't match value count at row 1

I enter the id & hit the update button. It submits and comes back to the page with none of the fields displaying any data.
