|
|
Has anyone else noticed a problem with sending shrubs back to Seti?
I have 4 shrubs all nicely pruned to send to Seti however the message I am getting is
Quote: | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site |
I would think that there is a problem on my end, BUT I just sent a shrub to Rosetta within the last 5 minutes without any problems.
The SETI site says everything is ok. I am confused.....ok so that is not very hard lately. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Update!!!
I just checked SETI again and they have disabled the upload/download server. Would have been nice to actually post that earlier..... _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

We shall not ignore it since it is in the wrong thread.

It's sputtered a few times since then, and seemingly completely puked now. Haven't been able to return a result all day, despite serverland being all green status (minus a few unrelated boxes).
Going to run out of SETI WU's right about the time I wake up, all I can do is hope it's sorted out by then (unlikely unfortunately, due to the holiday). Only one machine of mine requires SETI to keep it occupied 100%, so I guess I'll go donate some more time to QMC or something if I must.
Anywho, just a heads up that you may want to disable SETI network traffic for the time being. I've already had a few WU's eaten by the validation error monster, and others are reporting the same over on the SETI forum in this post.
PS: It's good to be back. Used to be ItsaNi! on classic and BOINC but vanished earlier this year. Back and better than ever now, with two Core Duo's leading the charge and a third about to be added soon.

Welcome back Sir JerWA, I didn't know you were missing, but now I do.
Put some of those idle CPU's on WCG and Rosetta, they need help.

Alpha,
One of the Duo's is dedicated to Rosetta and QMC. I've got another one coming online today (hopefully) that I can dedicate to 2 more projects. As long as WCG has lots of work available I can dedicate to it, otherwise I'll have to resource share. I hate idle CPUs! _________________

I've been running WCG about a year. Only seen it run out of work once in that time.
It was last week or so they went down for a few days. Some hardware failure I can't remember. Only affected the BOINC side.
Since they run five (maybe) six projects now, as well as Beta projects, there is a reliable source of WU at all times. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

I've joined them on my main machine temporarily to synch the new account with my old CPID (and to keep it busy while SETI is having issues), and I plan on dedicating one of the new machines slots to it. Looks like a good project. _________________
