As some of you may be aware , the Da-Grizz Home Theatre system went Bits up this year , frying lots of stuff .
System rebuilt with a dual AMD MP mobo , 2 Gig ram , 2 off AMD MP 1800 CPU's and a new HD (got some media files back , but lost many photos ) .
However , I had been using ShowShifter , very nice too , easy for her indoors and fast .
ShowShifter is now defunct , gone , an ex-parrot , and out of bussinesss , so even with the correct purchased activation codes ect , will not work .
Purchased the MCE to replace SS (supports twin tuners , ShowShifter din't) .

After "Faffing" arround for several weeks (Use your imagination on the word Faffing) allways being mystifyed (*) as to why when ever I had got MCE to work to my satisFacion , within the next day or two , the Bloody thing gave errors on all soddin'channels and recordings made in that time The hardware I was using had been rock stable for 2 years , but now seemed - umm - not so .
The Home Theatre system is linked to a projector and sound system and TV , but because ShowShifter could only view or record one program at a time , we used the TV to view the channel not being recorded .
I thought MCE would solve that problem , ie watch one and record another
Found out today didn't I !!
Her INDOORS was turning OFF the sat-box every now and again to save power !!! . This jummbled all of the settings !!!!!!
I BLOODY told her that - umm- why do you not turn off the TV then , Ohh thats ok , she said its on stand by(*) .
Umm - do you turn off the PC then ?
Sure , makes too much noise ( )
Umm - how do you turn off the PC then ?
"Normal shut down method" (thank God )
And the Digital TV other box ? I enquired(
Never use it , and the green light was distracting she replyed - so when ever I see that light flashing at me , I turn it off , seems ok though 'coz the Theatre seems to work ok when I do ( )
Im'a goin to lock away the electrickery stuffs from her (so she won't see flashing lights ) today
