Well, we're only 2,000,000,000 behind XtremeSystems, so (licks finger and holds up into the wind from processor fans) possibly about next Easter. Then there's FreeDC, we're a mere 4,000,000,000 behind them - possibly ~ Xmas 2008.

All the same, it's nice to see that KWSN is on top of the world in something, even if you are, very slowly, sneaking up on me. It seems that no matter what combination of Shrubbers/Workers/Buckets I use, I can't do much more than ~4 million URLs a day - maybe it's the 10 terabytes of pron I've already downloaded that's slowing me down!!!

You can set the client to crawl slowly, so it takes just a little bandwidth.

JCDK seems to have joined us (although he's a member of the Czech National Team on other BOINC projects - the recruiting team needs to wake up!) and anthonytc22 has restarted at a fairly high rate of knots attacking Cohiba; Sir Fart is making a (probably) vain attempt to stave off Mr. Snrub and Toby is on a charge to pass Sir Papa Smurph.

Mildew, Sir Grizz and myself are engaged in mortal kombat at the head of the table (even, for one glorious moment, holding the top three positions in the world) and the team is normally rated #1 or 2 in the world on today's shrubbing.

But if we're going to make serious inroads into Xtreme Systems & FreeDC more shrubs* are needed.

Running Majestic will only rob you of a couple of % of your BOINC, etc. crunch, so if you've got an unlimited broadband account the penalties are minor (in my case, as I'm thrashing it so hard, NTL throttle my bandwidth by 50% each evening, but what the hell, I still average 16Mb/s over the day).

It's All Hands To The Pump time.




*by "shrubs", I do of course mean Pron - I've currently managed 10 Terabytes, but Mildew only manages to get the sheep worried:

C'mon KWSN Ladys and Knights , this project is worth ~100 points in the DC Vault , which would push KWSN into the No One spot in the Misc section , and provide extra rewards for the new/existing contributing members

So if you have UNLIMITED bandwidth (ie NOT capped) this is an ideal project for you , as cpu cwycles are minimal (~ 5/10 %)
If you have a capped monthly usage , set the project to only use what you can afford each month (ie stop after 10,20, 30 Gigs used etc ) . It is your choosy and you can suspend MJ12 for times when you need to surf without interuption . Set it going full/part time again when you GGB (Gotta Go Bed )
If you only have dial-up , this project is not for you , sorry

Well , KWSN got "Thumped" by Xtreame in the last 14 days in MJ12 , with a new shrubber from them " Cross Fire" or some such , produ'sin ~6,000,000 a day (on his best days)
We are loos'in out to the tune of ~2,000,000 urls a day at present production .
