Not even sure where to put this, but is anyone else enjoying finally seeing SCO Groups long overdue death throws? _________________

Let this be a lesson. You DO NOT sue IBM. _________________ KWSN Forum Admin

*Grins* While I think that could have turned out to be true in the long run I think the immediate lesson was don't start lawsuits 'defending' IP that you don't in fact own. Their share price over the last month or so has been truly amusing to watch. _________________

That's also a good lesson. When this whole thing started, my first thought was "why would they sue a company that probably spends more on lawyers than they (i.e. SCO) take in in revenue?" It just strikes me as monumentally dumb, aside from the fact that they didn't actually own the IP they claimed. Wouldn't you pick an easy target first? Someone likely to roll over and pay up? But, no. They had to pick IBM. Might as well have started a land war in Asia. _________________ KWSN Forum Admin

I also love that Red Hat was so confident that they preemptively sued SCO, despite the fact that the relative lawyer employment between the two companies is likely similar to the SCO:IBM differential. There was an amusing update from Red Hat to the courts on Groklaw today. I don't normally follow this sort of thing at all, but this one has been an interesting ride. _________________

They sent 5, it was today. Basically they asked for their money again. Today was the rubber stamping of permission for SCO to continue paying its basic utilities and payroll which they can't do without court permission under bankruptcy proceedings. There will be another hearing 10/5 with motions for that hearing due by 10/5. _________________

They are almost certainly going to get that delayed a bit by scheduling a protest meeting with Nasdaq. Though I think once the meeting finally takes place they will be booted. So keep the PGGB's on stand by. _________________
