I agree that for the "experts" to dismiss as mass hysteria the claims of sickness reported by these people is quite narrow minded. Especially when they are doing it from 5,000 miles away.
There are numerous substances that when vaporised in steam could cause the reported symptoms. It could simply have been contaminated water, natural or human pollution.
I wonder if these are the same "experts" who dismissed the idea that people around ground zero in New York were having skin and respiratory problems.

There was a village where the crater is, I was dining with them when it happened  . I told them to hold back on my portion size of the beans  .
Would they listen ? Nooooooooooo  ! No survivors but I saved on airfare back to upstate NY  .
