I would not have much memory of the sixties, except that I have older siblings who were in their teens. My taste in music is the most obvious remnant of this; I was exposed to the good stuff, and missed most of the 70's junk. Smile

Duh- I was there, and still don't remember that much. Must have been something I was smoking.

I was -1. Maybe I have some RNA with 60's memories, but it's not mine!

Not too many memories, except dad yelling that I was watching a fake science fiction movie on television, when there was a REAL telecast from the moon going on.

and in 1969, it seemed somebody was always getting assasinated, and we got out of school early as a result.

Sorry, I was only 4 days old then. I was busy with my bottle (at least that is what my mother tells me).

I used to run home from school in the second grade so I would not miss anything. I never quite grasped the concept that they did the EVA's in prime time.

Ps: I miss Walter Cronkite.

on an aside, I have recently had a debate with several people as to weather the landing took place. I find it hard to believe that reasonably educated people can believe that they were staged for the camera.

I agree. Could someone tell me the point of staging something like that?

shoot, I had this long fantastic post about the 60's and I lost it when my keyboard fell over.

I remember the 60's. It was my childhood. Age 2 - 12.

I was 11 when the 60's ended, which means that I remember England winning the World Cup.

I also remember watching the very first episode of Doctor Who - it was about two minutes late due to reporting of the Kennedy assasination, so the two events are always linked in my mind... Rolling Eyes

So you are saying Dr Who killed Kennedy?......Ummmm.....which Kennedy, JFK or Bobby? Both were killed in the 60's.

It might help explain why the Daleks didn't show up until the second episode Wink. They had to fly them back before filming could start.

I was there, and in my prime.

I can still plainly remember Sputnik (the beeps from Jodrell Bank), Little Laika and Yuri Gagarin; Carnaby Street; 3 Rolling Stones autographs in one day (Charlie Watts, Keith Richards & Bill Wyman, in 3 different record shops, including HMV, Oxford Street with it's 30-odd listening booths in the basement), jealousy at a friend who disappeared for 3 or 4 hours returning to report he'd got laid.

Doctor Who? I was almost in my dotage by then!

England winning the World Cup? I was working by then (and on the princely salary of £365pa - way less than my weekly now!).

Ah, them's were the days.
