Many of you may already be aware of this, but for those who aren't...

The new online scifi series "Sanctuary" has just released its first webisode. The somewhat steampunk series (reminiscent of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) brings together a dark, almost Victorian feel with monsters, mutants and all kinds of other fun stuff. It's an experimental project involving a lot of Vancouver-area TV professionals and a group of computer game developers. Starring Amanda Tapping of Stargate fame, the series is shot almost entirely in green-screen, with computer-generated "sets". The effect is breath-taking.

You can watch the low-res version for free at YouTube, or dowload the high-res version (for a fee, I think) at SanctuaryForAll.com. The site is very well done, and includes a high-res trailer.

It's a fascinating experiment. With luck, it will inspire others. Enjoy!
