Well, I finally hit it! 250,000 shrubs! It seemed like I was going to hit it a bit earlier then today, but with the Einstein big shrubs (and therefore more time to getting the credit) it was a few days later then expected.

Next up top 150 on the team.....

Thanks, I don't have the farm you have (and I definately don't have a wife that will let me run the home PCs 24x7) so my production will never match most of you guys.

My goal is to eventually make the top 100 on the team (probably in the next year or so).

Is your wife competitive? We could have Michelle talk some trash to her to get her fired up for some BOINC butt kicking.

Yes she is, but she is normal, so she is not into this at all. I am lucky to get away with having the PCs on during the day after I get home and all day on the weekends.

(Don't ask Michelle to trask talk her....that will just get her mad. You don't want to piss off the Irish - she gets even Shocked)

What does being normal have to do with anything? The owners of 2 of the Core2 Duos in my "farm" are very normal and not at all "into" this stuff. I asked them if they'd be interested in letting their machines kick some scientific butt and they said ok (though one gave the caveat that it do medical related stuff, which is why that one is on Rosetta and WCG, and both only BOINC while idle). Why would she care if the PCs were on all day anyways? You know that 80% of the wear occurs when you power them on from a cold start right? All she's doing is shortening the computers lifespans exponentially, which will lead to the expense of replacing hardware sooner.

You have never tried to argue with an Irish woman, have you JerWa? You might as well be arguing with a brick wall.

You = whipped, like the pink one:
I'd be like, "Yo, get back in the kitchen where you belong" "before I have to get all kung-fu crazy on you."
Back to the point at hand (thank you for an excuse to use some more new smilies hehe), actually I have argued with an Irish woman, a redheaded one at that. It was much more entertaining than arguing with a brick wall, considering how lacking in intelligence and interaction a brick wall is. So does your wife let you wear the big boy pants sometimes, or are you always on this short of a leash?

HEY!!!!! I wear the pants at least until she gets home

Brave man going after a redhead, my wife is a brunette, one of her sisters is a redhead (the other is a blonde - go figure) and the redhead has a lovely Rolling Eyes disposition.

Since I want to be able to sleep at night without wondering if I am going to wake up in the morning, I choose the peaceful road most of the time. There is plenty of , I just have to pick the ones that are more important.

So I slap you now with A HERRING for your wimpy insults.....

Don't fear the Reaper!

As for your herring, I will be forced to use my light saber on it.

I must admit, picking your fights is an admirable skill... I'm just not sure why she'd pick a fight about leaving the PCs on. Maybe you need silent cooling fans so she doesn't know they are on.

Am I ?

Yes you are.

As for why she doesn't want them left on, I don't know.

Why does any woman want anything? You would have to understand them first.

Except the brick wall won't reach out and slap you upside the head.

Yes, I'm rather impressed with the SilenX fans. I've read reviews that say the air moving is louder than the fan, like hearing a breeze or something. I can understand if they're pinching pennies with electricity and such, but other than that, why?

You really don't know my wife. If there is something she thinks/knows she will win with - she will use it.

Then get a bunch of silent fans and unhook your case LEDs. Silent, dark box = not on, right?

black electrical tape

black paint

black finger nail polish

a dark cloud of evil produced by your anger at not being able to run even more machines...err umm well you may not be able to do that one
