Old news, I know, but I for one didn't know .16 had been released. Wish they'd make the BOINC Manager tell you when a new core version was out.

These constant releases are a pain. All of my puters are Service installs and I have to set a password and then delete it after install. One week there were 3 new releases as I recall. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Thanks for posting this, I updated and it appears to have fixed a problem. I was receiving messages for several programs, something like "Work unit ended with no zero state file, reset the project if this happens frequently." I reset those projects but the message continued. I haven't seen that message since the update. Hopefully that means more efficiency, more crunching, more work units, more data, more science, more wisdom, finding the big boob protein, *cough*more points*cough* more joy, and glory!

That 0 Status error was only a warning and meant nothing, really. Resetting was not needed.
It has to do with clock cycles being skipped. If something (and BOINC / science application can be at fault also) makes the clock skip a cycle or two, or NTP gets a time update and the time moves forward or backwards more then a few milliseconds then that warning happened.
It may still happen in the new version, just less often. So, no longer use the reset, it just disturbs things more. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

I upgraded and noticed an annoyance right away. The laptop is running vista, when the user account stuff is enabled in Vista (the default), you have to manually give boinc permission to run EVERYTIME you boot up the machine (even on the admin account - the only one on the machine). Pain in the A$$. I disabled the user account stuff and it doesn't ask for permission now.
I only knew of the upgrade because I saw a message about it on the messages tab.... _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Tried 5.10.13 a few days back, somehow doesn't work very well with the proxy settings and can't seem to connect to the network after the initial attach... have to manually revert to 5.8.16
Update notification comes from project server, I think, can't remember which one that sent a message "New Boinc version is out.. " blah blah blah...
Don't really like the new version... seems more and more eyecandy coming along _________________

So far it's working just fine for me on 4 systems. One of my remotes updated last night, so we'll see about that one too. _________________
