The Tsunami didn't get your feet wet, did it?

I think it fizzled out long before it got anywhere near Aussie land. That's certainly a good thing because there are lots of low-lying coastal towns that would have been affected.
I'm nearly two hours drive inland and on higher ground so there was no chance of getting any of it here if it did eventuate.
Villages in the Solomons did get a tsunami because they were a lot closer to the quake, but I'm not sure how bad it was there because the news was a bit slow getting through.
Thanks for thinking of me.

You can worry about me if it makes you feel better.
Although, I'm a good 12 miles from the beach.
The biggest threat is water coming up the rivers and flooding. We have a couple coastal towns and they know they're SOL if anything comes in. There are some pretty elaborate evacuation plans in place that become obsolete as soon as the one road leaving town is destroyed in the earthquake.
Anyway, glad to hear it didn't strike Aussieland, we would miss them and there are so few Aussies. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

I'm more worried about the 200 square mile chunk of volcano that is threatening to slide into the Atlantic Ocean. That is a guaranteed to cause a tsunami that will hit the mid-atlantic coast ro NYC if it goes slightly north of there. Talk is of 60 ft waves that could turn Cleveland into a "bustling coastal town". _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I can go back to my knitting now.
My guess is we'll be hit by a rouge meteor before that. And how fast is the polar ice cap melting anyway?

I think the return of Sir Farty should be met with more concern.... _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I've stopped bothering, according to The Discovery Chanel we are all going to die at least three time in a life time, burnt in a flood, drowned in the fire or bored to death by the Discovery Chanel “Your going to die” syndrome.
We know that you sad old farts, your not discovering anything, your just boring us all to death.
