Sooo... I've been unable to submit results to Collatz for 2 days now, and can't get their website to come up. Anyone heard anything?

It's been working fine for me for a few weeks now. Haven't seen a glitch yet.

Server is trashed...Slicker is running it by himself, and can't babysit the thing...I tried to go back to MW, but that project is hammered also... #Mad

Not considered PoTM by me. It's a GPU project, doing it on the CPU is a waste of time. Same WU takes like 18 hours on my CPU and 9 minutes on my GPU, both get the same credit.

ATI for me, but Collatz supports both.

Well at least for MW, with the optimized SSSE3+ app, it's down to 1 hr 20 mins for a WU that grants about 54 credits. Other CPU only projects grant less then 35-40 or so credits per hour of crunch time. So it is worth it for people who can't do GPU rendering at all. Naturally those who can, will just get more credits. But how many projects can give a better investment of time in credits, then the above mentioned?

Most are closer to 20 credits per hour, and some rather below.

Both projects are limping along because they drastically under estimated interest levels. Any time one goes down the other gets hit with all of the traffic and usually buckles.

Collatz problem now is bad code, and it's been fixed but isn't forced yet. As of this coming Friday the new code will go live and the old code will be automatically refused by the server so it should stop crashing so often.

Either way, I can't turn my nose up at the credits, and the fact it runs on crappy graphics cards (found another 8400GS so I'm gonna install that today and see if I can get a screen shot of 2 NV and 1 ATI WU all crunching at once haha).

with all the errors at GpuGrid I Quit. I attached to collatz and WOW.... Shocked

a Wu takes about 30 min on my 9800's and give between 500 & 700+ credits.
They take about 30 hours on my 9850 Cpu for the same credit.

So I have 3- 9800GTX+ and 2- 8800's and a 8600, I am running it on my 9600M GS Laptop as well.

I think that a conservative estimate will be 100K+ a day Very Happy

BTW: not a single error yet Cool

Unfortunately after I put that second 8400GS in my PC it started puking WUs a lot. Tomorrow I'm gonna yank it. Ah well, it was more for novelty than anything else, since they're only good for like 2,000 credits/day hehe.

Little trick for cacheing WUs at Collatz...set all CPU tasks to no new work and bump the extra days to 10...leave it that way for an hour or so and switch back to your regular Connect/Extra...should max you out at 150 tasks per GPU... Wink

Umm. . ..

They're rejecting all WU's processed with 2.05 to stop the server crashes. You have to download the new 2.06.
