Yeah, no joke. I'm on track for about 600,000/year with my current setup... but it took me 2 years just to break 100k lol. I've gone from ~85k credits to 260k since December 2006.

Bragging (I should join the exalted ranks of the 1M club towards the end of the year) and taunting (ahead of ) aside,
My heartiest congratulations on achieving probably the most significant milestone. or , to taste.
All power to your elbow (if that's where you keep your shrubbers), and here's to the next 1,000,000.

You better start adding machines now Al. End of the year I'm gonna get a dual quad just to bash you over the head with.
Congorats on the 1m btw, I think I forgot to mention it earlier. _________________

It took me a lot longer to hit 1 million, than a year, but now with a heftier cruncher, and hopefully one more on the way, I will be kicking some good arse.
The Core 2 Duo is a nice punch for it's price and power consumption. They are already going into outlet pricing which makes them a lot cheaper to buy.
My 2nd million should be a lot quicker. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

I cobbled together a couple boxes powered by AMD Dual Core 5400+ processors. They seem to be doing wonderfully well.
It's been kinda tough to get an accurate read on daily production what will all the consternation at Einstein but they seem to be doing wonderfully well.
One of the folks I used to hang with at SETI had made mention that the AMD boxes were faster at crunching than the Intel units. I've always been very happy with AMD so I'm sticking with them, other than my Xeon boxes, of course.

I'll stick to my Core2s, their power requirements are much lower, which means their heat output is lower, which means their cooling requirements are lower, so on and so forth. With 6 machines on 24/7, every watt of power reduction I can find counts.
Edit: I forgot to mention one point. The new AMD 4x4 setup (two dual cores) totally stomps the Intel equivalent from what I've read, so for max output you're probably on the right path.
Edit2: I checked my 60 day stats at BOINCstats, rather than guestimating. With my current output over the last 60 days, I'm actually on track for about 940,000 credits/year. So close! If I actually upgrade a machine end of the year that should push me over the 1m/year mark! (Unfortunately, the last 60 days includes a Nano hive credit adjustment, so who knows how far that's pushing it from reality hehe) _________________

Congrats on 1 Million.
My brain hurts just thinking about how long that will take me to get to a million. I want to be in the top 100 on KWSN, then I'll think about such a grand goal.
My brain hurts so bad, I have edited this post about six times and I still found spelling/grammer mistakes. Time to go cook something on the new grill. _________________

My quest for 7 digits will improve once I go bring my "other" pc back up tommorow. Go on vacation for a week and I can see that it went a few hours after I left. #@%#$@#^@^%#@!!!!! I figured that left alone for a week it would get me some good numbers. Nope it went belly up. Now I have to go find out what happened. Been sinking like a stone the last few days with out it running. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Thanks all for the comments.....
As for the 2m, I've got a dual quad coming soon-"ish", so it' may be a little less than another year...
I love the core 2's and Xeon 5xxx series, lots of shrubbing power for a low watt consumption..... I reckon my quaddie will consume that same power as one of my overclocked P4D 805's!!!!... they both may be decommed when the quaddie's up and running

Well I figured it out. It seems that my PC automatically did a windows update and rebooted on it's own. I re-adjusted the setting for it to only notify me, so I can control when it happens and I don't get the dead pc again (for that reason anyway). _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Wish someone made a Core2 dual processor motherboard. Been looking at the Xeon MBs and I dunno where those processors fall in terms of performance. I also dunno why they're in active and passive setups (would you want 2 actives, or one of both?). There are "affordable" Xeon quad cores, but I dunno where those processors fall in terms of grunt. Blah. _________________
