I'm getting my 939 board back up with an X2, and space requirements are going to force me to "retire" one of my primary S@H. So, with that being said, which one would you shut down? Keeping in mind two things:
1) These machines S@H 24/7.
2) They are used, at times, to process video footage. Speed isn't really an issue, per say, but that's why the scores might seem a "bit off". The Athlon 64 suffers from this more than the P4, due to the whole hyperthreading issue.
P4: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=2854103
A64: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=2835828
My gut tells me to shut down the A64 and replace it with the X2, but... but... it's an A64, and it's pretty. I just have a feeling that, performance wise, the P4 will be able to put out more points. |

Hi hotdog
If I understood...
It does look like both 3000+ and P4 are running about the same in terms of RAC, but... since I don't like Pentium anymore I would definately keep the Athlon...myself. It sounds good to me if you want to replace the Athlon 64 with X2. Go for it.
