This poll is for the people who read our daily updates. We now can update the website, but would you prefer us to update the website or continue to update it on the forum? _________________

I would really prefer the forum to be updated. There are still issues with the slow loading and scrolling at the website for me. It's as if the page is tring to reload with each tick of the wheel. A few others also reported the same thing. I had just quit going there.
EDIT: If the issues on Katrinas is resolved so that it's usable for me I would have no preference. Either one would be fine. _________________

(Moderator hat is off, this is just my personal opinion)
I don't like having the updates in their current format, since they're drowning out all other posts in the humanitarian part of the forum.
If you want to put it in the forum, I would suggest wither using one single thread or creating some separate subgroup so the posts are separated from the rest of the humanitarian forum threads.
If there is a problem with slow downloads on the Katrinashome page, then that could probably be solved by removing the fancy scripts and use simple jpegs for the buttons.
Since many of our projects have an info-link to Katrinashome rather than to the forum, it doesn't look good when the latest news are from several months back. If you choose to go with updates on the forum I would suggest that the katrinashome page is redesigned so that the news are removed and is replaced with some general team info and a link to this forum. _________________

I know the problem isn't my connection as I use cable access. Every other page I go to is instantly loaded and scrolls perfectly.
I thought it may have been the flash but I updated it to the latest version and there was no change.
I'm running XP Home with IE6 SP2 fully up to date. _________________

What fungus said . I tried to express this sentiment, albeit too briefly, the 1st day da bunny posted : http://www.kwsnforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=7293 . You might as well turn off the Humantarium forum as a visitor would be bored to tears by it .
Personally, if I give a rat's ass about my ranking in a project I'll look it up myself, and chances are I already know where I am relative to others. What I do find more "useful" is when those Knights, who care about their rankings, give each other (fun) taunts in the bragging yard. Those are fun to read and done in jest. I've done it a few times myself. A dry recitation of standings is boring and useless, the "product" of the standings (taunting etc.) is what can make the forum interesting. |

Hate to say this but I tend to agree with the smelly one and Mildew. I think the updates are better and more relevant over at Katrinashome, while the forum is more suited to project discussions. _________________ My brain hurts.

Since I help KR update, I would prefer to continue here. My reason is, I can't get the hang of this CuteFTP or any FTP program, so if it goes back over yonder I can't help out and I do enjoy updating. Maybe if the power that be would make a Up-Daters Board, people would like it better. Just my 0.2 cents. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

Could we use the DC-News section?
That would seem pretty convenient to me. _________________

I agree with the Crazyone..... I like being ambiguous
let's fix the root cause. Katrinashome........
if we fixed the poor performance, I have 8mb Broadband and page load times are slow as hell, then let's start updating that site.
if not let's find an appropriate place, bragging yard or the gorge sound about right to me for the updates to live here....

I think the button issue that causes scrolling problems on Katrinashome needs to be fixed regardless. My uber shrubbers on 3mbs cablemodem cringe everytime i try and view the katrinashome and scroll.
I mean if we want flash buttons, i can do flash buttons may post some examples on a page to see what people think, if i still have the program to do flash buttons..
I also noticed were loading like 40 flash buttons.. Um responce will be better if you combine them into 1 flash file. So instead of loading 40 flash movies your only loading like 3 or 4 _________________ Smoke-em if you got-em I do.. |

Grizxl's ha'porth :
I like the many coloured page , NOT the one here where I am posting
AND I am colour blind (mostly)
One click to the page is GOOD . Not the many clicks that are required to get here .
Fix the problem with the other site (Which in a Google site search of "KWSN" gets 2 nd place - not found for this forum unless one is parse'a'variant !!!)
I am NOT literate in the vagaries(sp) of coffee or hotmetal , but a prof'es' ional approach (but slow load time) to an image of the Knights Who Say NI was present in the non-functioning page , BUT not here with a simple text search and find stats thingy .
Look arround and see who has good "hit" results on web pages , and how they present themselves . 'Nuf said .
Do you need a donation (Money) to help fix this ? If so Grizzly WILL donate .
Not having a go at all and any of the valiant people who have manged to get this whole thing (here) working , but there are profesional web "Guys" out there (Lots are members here too - you know who you are) who can fix this .
Running to the para'pet now
Regds Grizz
PS . I guess I am with O'Farty and Mildew on this one _________________ Oh Bugger Forgot again - or is it Oh Father Reboot again ?

Eh? I'm showing the forum as #2 for KWSN in Google. Even in the UK Google. Katrina's home isn't anywhere to be found in the first 5 pages. _________________ KWSN Forum Admin
