OK so I have a pile of IBM POWER5 (pSeries) processors at my disposal. There is no native BOINC client for it that I can find. I'm running Fedora Core 6 on my test box but many of the others are running RHEL4.
Google is not being my friend on this. I try to build BOINC and get stuff like this:
Code: | checking for curl-config... /usr/bin/curl-config
checking for the version of libcurl... 7.15.5
checking for libcurl >= version 7.13.2... yes
checking whether libcurl is usable... no
configure: error:
================================================================================
ERROR: could not find (recent enough) development-libs for libcurl.
This library is required to build the boinc-client.
(If you don't want to build the client, use --disable-client with configure.
If libcurl-dev is installed on your system, make sure that the script
'curl-config' is found in your PATH, and that
'curl-config --version' gives something recent enough (see above).
You can download libcurl from: http://curl.haxx.se/

Imagine all of the shrubs that could be gathered with dozens (or more) POWER5 processors at my disposal. Ideas?
Yes, I've tried compiling my own curl. That doesn't work, either, for it's own silly reasons. _________________ My S@H Profile - KWSN Stats
