Well, I've gotten a new PC to replace that crappy Compaq, it's a HP and it has a Celeron processor, now my question is, on the Compaq I have a hugh WU on F@H, it will be finished in 45 days, do I set that PC aside and let it finish and not get any new WU's or do I just shut down that PC and forget it?
Also I still have that same WU in Queue at work and I need to know how to abort it/get it off the queue so I stop getting the "cannot send work unit" or something like that.
Any help appreciated. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

F@H won't get sad if you don't complete the unit. The question is if you think it is worth the points to keep the old can running for 45 days.
As of the queued unit, I have no idea... I also have a few queued WUs, and they've been stuck in the queue for months. I wonder if they will ever be sent back
If you'll be throwing away the computer you don't need to worry about it, I suppose.
If you very much would like to empty the queue, open a command window and enter:
Code: | > cd c:\my_folding_folder
> fah504console.exe -queueinfo |
This will make the client print the contents of the queue, and you can see at which position your finnished WU is.
Code: | CURRENT QUEUE:
00 *READY "Folding@Home" (7a) 171.64.122.136:80 October 2 16:29 | November 21 16:29
01 EMPTY
02 EMPTY
03 EMPTY
04 DONE "Folding@Home" (78) 171.64.122.138:8080 July 25 14:08->July 27 04:56:17
05 EMPTY
06 EMPTY
07 EMPTY
08 EMPTY
09 EMPTY
Folding@Home Client Shutdown. |
Then print
Code: | > fah504console.exe -delete XX |
where XX is the queue position of the unit you wish to delete.
In my case above, I would put
Code: | > fah504console.exe -delete 04 |

Thanks cutie patutie, I will play it by ear and maybe let it run since the credit is very high. As for the one here at work, if it is still there when we close the office at years end, I will delete it off here.

Why not copy the entire folding directory from your junker and place it on the new PC, and run it with the -one unit flag and let it finish, it should finish much quicker than on the old box. if this doesn't work you still have the wu on the old box.

Sir Spike, I don't know how to do that, so I will just let the clunker run until it finishes and check the pause when finished slot.
How you been? Haven't seen you in a while. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |
