We had another load spike this afternoon. Fortunately, I was around to try and take care of the problem while it was happening this time. I've implemented several changes to watch the load when and if a spike occurs again. If it does, things like work regeneration and result validation, which are very CPU-intensive, will be temporarily paused. While this will casue workunits to show up as pending in this situation, it will allow the project to continue running, as the load will be significantly lower. We're watching the situation, still working to find the original cause of the problem, and trying to prevent further issues. Thanks to everyone for their support and understanding.
