I have my PC set for Rosetta to use 90% of my PC, yet it keeps saying "work suspended because computer is over committed". I am only running Folding@home with Rosetta. Can someone tell me what is going on? Please?
I'm ready to stop this project if I can't get it to working correctly. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

That's BOINC telling you that it thinks it has too many work units to be able to complete them all before their deadlines. It's gone into a panic mode where it won't grab any more work units until the queues have been depleted to a level that BOINC thinks is safe. Folding is going to affect the amount of work that BOINC can get done, but after awhile, BOINC will get an idea of how much work it can get done and adjust how much work it requests. _________________ KWSN Forum Admin

Thanks, so you think it will work itself out? I have had several WU's not report on time and it tells me to abort them as they won't finish on time.
So just wait and see? _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

Alpha_Fruit, it depends on how long the WU's are taking and how far you are from the deadline. My BOINC Manager and Daemon does this often since I run so many projects and I have had no problem with any of the deadlines.

Part of the messages.... My PC is not over committed. I called my PC guy and he had me do some things and said it is only 35% committed, so why do I continue getting this?

Alpha, you can set the length of time rosetta will run a shrub for, you can do this from the rosetta settings link on the preference page.
why don't you set the runtime to 1 hour. save this and update the project from boinc manager. this might clear the backlog quicker

All those messages mean is that BOINC thinks it has more workunits than it can complete before the deadlines. That's it. Without knowing exactly what your pc guy had you do I can't say for sure, but I think that 35% number has very little to do with your BOINC messages. If you don't want to see those messages any more, shut down folding, and BOINC will be able to clear its queue faster. _________________ KWSN Forum Admin
