I see at the BOINC! site that the new Boinc Account Manager is available.
Does anyone among us Knights use it?
Is it stable?
Does it do all it claims?
Is it easy to use?

I use it. It could do more, but it's certainly a useful tool. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

I use it, too. I had heard that for Linux (and I found on Win systems, too) a mistake in config will cause hosts to detach. Also, as the account manager needs to validate at each site you must be using the same account password at each project. Best policy is to:
1. Be sure you are using >5.4.9
2. Run all caches dry.
3. Use the BOINC Account Manager Function to use bam.boincstats.com.
4. Go to the user account area in BAM and select projects you want each host to crunch.
Easy enough? _________________

I have an ID, which one also needs to manage forum postings on BOINC stats also... However, not using. I gave it a look, and it does want to detach all my projects. I have some climate models
One look at that on their site, and I detached BAM, cancelled the host, and said "no way... You are not resetting climate predictor and seasonal attribution" Resetting with coupled ocean models would be enough for one to rip their hair out
I might give it another look, after the climate models are gone. But not until... |
