Is anybody else having trouble connecting to Einstein today and last night?

Yeah, as to Einstein, I saw an announcement over at BOINC stats that their air conditioning went on them about 24 hours ago (well yesterday afternoon I read that), and it would take another 24 hours to get back up and running.

Yes, I was just about to post the same question. Have not been able to upload for at least two days now. Cannot connect to any Einstein site either.

I understand that what happened there can be quite bad to computer systems; but all said I do hope that they get back online by the first (though it can be after 10pm on the first). Else I'll end up with 3 WUs that won't be reportable until after the deadline...

Was busy crunching LHC for awhile there, so my comp was in EDF mode and had to wait on the Einsteins that were in queue. Those 3 are what remained that was then due...

None of my Einstein work expires before the 10th. I'm sitting on 37 completed units and 15 waiting ones though.

A/C failure in their server room. No word yet on how long to recover, but guessing that with the holiday weekend, this is probably the first real day of dealing with the situation, os I'm resgined to waiting until tomorrow.

It's hard to believe that SETI and Einstein went down simultaneously. I'm out of work on a couple of machines and will be completely out by the end of the day today.

Oh well. . .

I looked at my machines this AM and I've got somewhere over 330 results to report...

Once Einstein does come back from the dead I'm afraid that it'll take the better part of two days to get my logjam cleared...

Sad

Yeah I am not expecting them to be up to speed for at least a couple days and maybe not even until the early weekend or next Monday.

luckily I didn't have that big a result cache so I'm not affected too badly, I have rosetta as a backup on both machines so shrubbing for CASP7 at the mo, and rapidly catching up MR Snrub as well Wink

Rosetta's a good backup project as you can set the length of time easch shrub takes and so quite a lt of control just set the resource share to 1 and the time to say two hours and you'll only have 1 or two shrubs at any 1 time, plus you'll help Sir Farts halfwitted attemp to catch the FadBeens in a years time. Could you PM me on how to do this? I also run F@H and Red Library on this machine. TIA #ni-1

It's been clearly established that my quest to catch dem beens is only a quarter-witted Cool . I strive for being a half-wit, but have always fallen short Embarassed .

I think I'm set through about the 9th in terms of Einstein deadlines. I'm out of work, though, and there have to be at least 100 WU's waiting for the chance to upload.

What a mess. I do hope all is okay with the database and servers, as they were just finishing up S4.

And go figure, I'd just detached from predictor because there was no work and no explanation for over a week. No einsteain and seti go down at the same time!

At least I had CPDN left to run on one machine in the interim. The rest lost some serious crunching time. And it's only going to get worse, as I'm going to have to cut down on the 24x7 crunching for summer, with heat and energy cost considerations.

Currently, I've got another 4 or 5 days supply of work for all my machines but if the projection of the system being down 'till the weekend comes true I guess I'll be shrubbing some for Sir Fart!

Time will tell... or was that William Tell??? Nonetheless, somethings rotten in Denmark...

Where did this projection come from?

I was going to respond about Sir Fart's wit but he beat me to it. I was even going to give him more credit than that, but c'est la vie.
