|
|
As most of you know, we purchased a 20" LCD Monitor by Samsung, now the question is, the brightness is so bright I have a heard time reading most of the Boards, since they are all real light blue or white. I have called, emailed Samsung and can't get this thing to get darker, would you reccommend I throw it away and get a new one or what?
My monitor downstairs is great, no LCD and I believe it is a 17 or 19 inch screen, nothing special, just a regular E-Machine.
My eyes are really bad this time of year, allergies, and I can't read diddly on this monitor. So can someone guide me?

LCD screens have a problem with viewing angles and also (generally) have less accurate colour.
Is there any maual with it?
Can you adjust the resolution through properties (left click on your desktop).

Try the following (presuming you are running Windows XP).
Go to 'Control Panel'.
Double-click on 'Display'.
Click on the 'Appearance' tab.
Click on the 'Effects' button at the bottom-right.
Place a check mark in the second box from the top (use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts).
In the drop-down box, choose 'ClearType'.
Click OK, OK, etc. _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

NOTHING comes with a manuel anymore, you download it off the internet, silly people the manufactures are.
Yes I'm running XP Home.
I will try what you said Sir CC. We have adjusted every thing on this monitor and nothing works. I really am considering getting a new flat screen not LCD. _________________ Don't fuss about growing older, many are denied the chance. |

Hi my friend! My HP f1903 color LCD monitor has buttons on the front, incuding a brightness button. If you can post the model number, I'll find out how you can adjust it.

The important bit was in the middle:
Samsumg website wrote: | Important: If you have connected your monitor to your computer using a DVI cable and you have set your monitor to digital mode, you may not be able to use the OSD menu to adjust the brightness, and in most cases, you will not be able to use the OSD menu to adjust the contrast. Instead, you must use the graphics control software that came with your graphics card. |
Try right click desktop->properties.
settings tab -> advanced button
Lots of tabs ...
If there is a tab for your graphics card (mine has a tab with "Quadro FX1400" on it and a little logo), try that, since it is the "graphics control software" mentioned above.
Mine popped up a tree style list of things to do. I picked "color correction" and voila', there is a brightness and contrast slider. _________________ 0.0 Giggly hertzes Folding!
