There is a new client out now 4.43
Some people have had problems updating the patch, but here is the place to download the new client. _________________ When in doubt, kick it until it works. |

Yeah, give it time, I'm only running this project on a [lest oft] used AMD 900Mhz processor. _________________ Listen; Strange women laying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government.

Bumping up the MUON1/DPAD thread and asking a question at he same time, if you please...
The site at http://stephenbrooks.org/muon1/?optim=*&team=[KWSN]&sortby=Mpts&user=*&oldness=0 would have you think the stats are updated practically instantaneously, yet some results I sent in a couple days ago have yet to be acknowledged... It HAS been months since my last Send, so maybe Mr. Brooks thinks I have forgotten the project...
Anybody know how often the MUON1/DPAD stats 'should' get updated? _________________

Stats are normally updated at the top of each hour.
Take a look in the sendlog file to see where the results went - some of the auxiliary ftp sites sometimes go offline for a few hours/days.
Also check your user config file to make sure it is still has the right contents _________________ (Sir Furry - Occasional member of the Migratory Coconuts)

Thanks for the prompt reply SirFM! I wrote my user name wrong when I reinstalled MUON1!
My User.txt NOW shows: "KWSN - PhastPhred"
2072. KWSN - PhastPhred 10 18477.8 (1.40µ) 50
It SHOULD have been: "[KWSN] PhastPhred"
2157. [KWSN] PhastPhred 11 14640.8 (1.11µ) 3001
My SendLog.log shows:
"20090118-112522 10 results sent to muon1.serveftp.org"
Any suggestions about how to merge my goof? Should I just forget these 10 results and go ahead and correct my User.txt file for future WUs?
Thanks again! _________________

I did the same thing, one of my boxes had dashes in the name and it put in over 50k before I noticed. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Post in the forum (at http://www.stephenbrooks.org/forum/?forum=4) requesting a correction and merging - Stephen is pretty good at doing that.
(Maybe someone should suggest that to Dr.V too )

Look out, Dagger! Comin' atcha!! I just eased around the Smurfy One!
(Actually, I have no idea how I did it, I have only submitted results three times, IIRC)
14. [KWSN] Dagger 832 102087.1 (0.0347%) 14745
15. [KWSN] PhastPhred 32 61441.7 (0.0209%) 0
16. [KWSN] Sir-Papa-Smurph 50 58635.9 (0.0199%) 1770
Maybe my meager output can help us overtake SETI.Germany after all! _________________

PS- You passed the Smurfy one's sign-up mistake ([KWSN]Sir-Papa-Smurph), you have a ways to go to pass ([KWSN]Sir Papa Smurph)
PPS- To make life easier on this project, you can set
Auto-send results ([Y]es, [N]o): N
and then use the Windoze task scheduler to run manualsend.bat once a day (assuming you produce enough results to justify running it once/day). _________________

Fingers crossed that the Doktor sticks with us for a few more weeks ...

6. Romulus2.......................0 / 16.. 1`582550 333`564624.7 (2.48%)
7. SETI.Germany................0 / 56.. 1`638323 318`520408.3 (2.37%)
8. The Knights Who Say Ni!..6 / 20.. 1`932183 301`759748.0 (2.24%)
The nice thing about that is the fact that the next two teams in front of us have no one working at the moment. _________________

Less than 3 days away from SETI.Germany now and (yet another) Victory for the V.
I'm shovelling all I can, but even when I accumulate all my effort for a couple of days I'm still being outproduced 3:1 !
(Must be nice to be the one credited with 'crushing' another team - I had dreams once but mustn't grumble... )

Why exactly do the WUs for these have to be run 5 times before they can create any results that are usable? I can understand running it twice or having someone else cross check it to validate it, but me running the same test 5 times to get credits once??
NI! It could drive people crazy to keep running it like this and get no credit forever _________________

What exactly do you mean Sir P ?
If you mean on a manual send you see it "parssing" 5 times or more , this is normal .
An i7 2600k with 4 cores and 4 threads will do ~250,000/day , so a single core and thread @ ~2.0 giggles will do ~ 30,000/day .
Muon does not as such have WU's , rather just an ongoing "results.txt" file that is continuesly updated on auto-save (depends on speed of box as to when , but ~ every 1,000 points) . This is the file that is sent to CERN , either automaticaly "Net" or manualy "NoNet" .
Regds Grizz
PS: Just checked the Muon site , and you are not in the KWSN team .
You should have this [KWSN] in front of you user name (Inn the user.txt file in the Muon directory) . I.e. , mine is [KWSN] Grizzly _________________ Oh Bugger Forgot again - or is it Oh Father Reboot again ?

I do not have a results.txt file. Sooo I have just created one myself and we will see if it works out now. My name is already set as [KWSN] Plomos so that should be fine.
I suppose I was konfused because it was not creating the results.txt file and just kept going without me seeing any progress other than it finishing a couple of simulations _________________
