For my next trick, I intend to recruit another friend. He has been crunching for SETI for years, but has never got around to joining a team.

I shall bring him and his (presumably) impressive total credits into the fold this Sunday next Twisted Evil

Way to go, and our increasing daily contribution is definitely showing... However, it also seems that Team Anandtech has decided to turn the heat up on us as well; as their daily average shows a higher score too...

http://www.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_team_stats.php?pr=bo&st=0&to=100

Quote:
10 The Knights Who Say Ni! 57,222,920 279,804
11 TeAm AnandTech 54,315,784 304,092

However, earlier in the week, team anandtech was rated at 45 (days? I'm gathering) to overtake us, and it's back to 50). This is probably when they turned up the heat, really wanting that top 10 position, and knowing we'd fight to keep it Very Happy

The more the marrier on joining however, so anyone who can help keep Team AnandTech at bay #ni-1

I should be adding a few more machines over the next few weeks, trying to push the RAC over 10,000. Although I don't have much to contribute in the way of total credits.

Looking at that page, and the actual Seti stats page... Somethings way outta wack.

10 The Knights Who Say Ni! 57,672,584

versus

11 The Knights Who Say Ni! 37,758,428.58

Top is boincstats, other is from Seti itself, and is also reported on the Free-DC stats.

BOINCsynergy has us as 11th and 37,611,186 points

Synergy's stats like that seem to be updated once a day in the overall team combined.

Here's a thought. Ouch! I think I injured myself. Ni!

Anyway here's the thought: as a matter of pride, should KWSN attempt to get into the top 20 on every project that we're participating in? That would put us on the front page of the team listing on each project at Berkeley. Folks looking to join a team would be more likely to notice us. Nay? Ni!

Where's the greatest need for more head of steam (preferably BOINCed); I've decided to abandon CPDN, so would someone like to point my puny little shrubber (Athlon 1800+, 768MB, plenty of HD, on 24/7) at the most useful projects (as long as there's a reasonably good scientific reason for crunching them).

Sir Al, TSC and D2OL are both very good scientific projects, go have a look. #ni-1

World Community Grid. We suck at that.

But at least we've moved from 144th to 141st. That's headway if you ask me.

Yeah, BOINCstats had a bit of a problem there for a bit, but it was since recovered. However, another team already passed Team AnandTech, and has been vieing with us for a bit. So we upped our RAC, and they met the challenge and upped theirs

http://www.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_team_stats.php?pr=bo&st=0&to=100

Yes, it looks like we have a lil good ol fashion taunting going on in the form of Ars Technica, and following on their heals will be Team AnandTech to try to regain their position from them, and then take us. Ars Technica, has 59,214,564 credits vs. our 59,282,176. They've been rated to overtake us for several days now, but we've managed to hold them off slightly. It's still uncomfortably close however #ni-1

hehe, after I upped my resource share following your taunt to others on CPDN Very Happy Not that you were near my position yet, however...

Well seasonal attribution has smaller shrubs, but it's also CPDN like. WCG we aren't doing so well on, and perhaps we could use some more crunching on Rosseta. However, on Rosseta, you'll need to deal with Sir Fart's world class farts for awhile #Rofl SETI and Einstein would have the benefit of optimized science apps, which would allow more work to be done sooner. Can also get more credit for one's work because...

Well, it's all change again in the Dente household.

A week ago I responded to Fart's call for more steam in Rosetta and went from CPDN 100% to CPDN 50%/Rosetta 50%. After 3 days, Rosetta was going well and CPDN still hadn't recovered from it's recent server problemettes, so I moved to CPDN 20%/Rosetta 80% (all in the name of science, you understand. Nothing to do with the fact that there was a potentially interesting tanut on the horizon. Laughing But they didn't want to play - some people just aren't any fun Crying or Very sad ).

So, in response to the CoffeePerson's post above, I've now tagged onto WCG (CPDN 16%/Rosetta 42%/WCG 42% of my admittedly fairly puny shrubber), if that helps at all; it'll only add about 45 RAC.

BTW (on the science side). I noticed that WCG downloaded rosetta_4.22 as soon as I attached, my Rosetta@Home is using rosetta_5.07, and Ralph news (on the forum) uses the Rosetta logo - are these projects all doing much the same? On the WCG page, it only shows Aids and Folding as current projects, so are they all related to Folding@Home?

BTBTW - for Killerrabbit - have you noticed the 2nd link at the very bottom of the forum pages?
(I don't know if they change; it's currently this).

Rosetta@home (and Predictor@home) is developing algorithms to determine protein 3D structures mathematically. Ralph@home tests out new Rosetta stuff. World Community Grid is doing the Human Proteome Folding Project (predicting structures of proteins that are currently unknown) with a proven version of Rosetta. WCG is also doing HIV research using Autodock. Folding@home is working on how protein actually folds on the molecular level. No one knows what Red Library DLV does.

At least that is what I gather from this site:

WCG you can just do the AIDS client which is recommended, since the Rosetta version of WCG is an older version.
