I haven't posted over there for a while. Had a looky today and the last post was in Feb. Maybe we should go and rev things up again. Laughing

Saw your message. I might pop in later.
It's a shame it's so quiet there now when it was fairly active a few years ago.

Looking back through this thread, I feel I must profer the most abject apology to Sir Vesuvius - I seem to have hi-jacked his thread (and he's not even in the picture).

No apology needed at all.
I've made many KWSN images and I've been out of ideas for some time. I believe my original post shows that.

The rest of the thread has allowed me to imagine other KWSN image possibilities.

Daggs~
Nice work on the image captures.

... more ideas would be ... helpful

I'll see if I can do something with Daggy's pics on the weekend.

Al Dente, you're pretty good at putting other people on your banner but where are you? Laughing

Well, I've finally put together 2 banners (a bit busier than expected last week).

The first is very similar to the original I did last week; I've tried to incorporate all the comments:-

A few notes. I hope I haven't offended anyone, but I've taken a couple of liberties with a few of the gallery pics.
Michelle: Faced with chopping your hair off at the shoulder, I've given you long, flowing, maidenly tresses.
Phast Phred: I've (not all that successfully) added a crash helmet and handlebar mirrors.
Lady K: I wanted to put all the fair maidens of this forum in the front row, but your arms wouldn't fit in the armour, so I've had to put you in the middle row to hide the stumps of your wrists.
Jammy: Ditto for your stumps (but I wasn't going to put you in the front row anyway, so there).
Sir Latch: You looked so proud of baby Latchling, I couldn't resist adding him/her. Aah.
Sir Fart I've used the pic in the gallery, but I'm sure you look much more evil than that in real life. Very Happy
KillerRabbit and Mildew: You'll be happy to note that I've placed you close together!
The only new head that's not in the gallery is that red-faced, stupidly grinning one. Alias moi.
I've made the kow a bit bigger and added a few alpacas, penguins and French taunters to the original, as they seemed appropriate (and filled up a few gaps).

I've also done a real shrubbery, with vague reference to the film:

The row of shrubs behind the picket fence is to hide the fact that all the kaNi!ghts are legless (a not unusual situation, I suspect); the path is rather nice and I rather like the look of that alpaca, peering inquiringly over A Shubbery's (who else) shoulder.

As my monitor is on its last legs and showing everything very dark, I've produced a range of brightnesses (my original and -10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%) - the above are the -30% versions. You can see the full range here. (use the slideshow button or click on individual thumbnails). Please visit and vote for your preferred brightness - I can use your votes to calibrate my monitor.
I also put together a quick and dirty range of fonts (last image). If you particularly like or dislike any of them let me know, they're pretty easy to change (I've used #5 and #11 at the moment).

Looking forward to your comments, criticisms, suggestions, flames, whatever.

I really like the bottom one, the top one looks a bit washed out to me, but consider my eyes are washed out. LOL

I knda like the kow in the top one, can "it" be placed in the bottom one?

Can we chip in and get you a new monitor? If so set up the PayPal account so we can donate.

Thanks for taking the time to put all the loony"s/looney's/loomies together, now you boyz on the back row keep your stumps to yourself. I like your long flowing locks Michelle.#ni-1

I wish I was that creative, I may just buy photoshop and try to figure it out. I really don't like reading directions. I'm a go to person. #ni-1 Laughing Wink

Don't part with any shekels.
There are two good open-source (i.e. free) alternatives to Photoshop. "The Gimp" is a full-blown, all-singing, all-dancing image creation/manipulation prog, but learning it can be a bit daunting. "Paint.NET" is not quite as full-featured, but is a lot easier to get to grips with (it's what I used to do the above).

Someone has way too much free time on their hands. But I really like my pet Alpaca. Can I call him Bruce? It's so much easier.

Another one for alpha-fruit (or indeed, anyone else who may be interested).
I've just found, downloaded and installed Google SketckUp, nipped through the introductory tutorials and produced this 3D model, all in just over an hour. Looks as if it could be quite good fun (for those of us with way too much free time on our hands). Laughing
(Reduced to half-size to save on my Photobucket account)

It's really easy to use (at least, as far as I've got so far). And the best thing, it's free.

Does anyone else have an issue when clicking on the project links to the left of the page? It works, but I have to click on it twice. I am getting so feeble that it takes me two tries to click a mouse?

(PS - I use IE 6. Yes, I am a looney.)

Works for me with 1 click using IE 6. So it must be you.
Are you sure you're clicking in a manly way ? A limp-wristed click will not suffice Confused .

I reported a problem with the page a while back. The page loads just fine, however, when I scroll down the page it is very slow and jerky until I get past the link buttons then it's fine until I scroll back up the page. Then it gets slow and jerky as soon as the buttons come into view. There IS definately a problem on the page. It is the only page I have this problem on. It doesn't reoccur at any other site.

XP with IE6 SP2

Am I the only one having a scrolling down problem on that page? When I get to the lower part of the page it smoothes out but up near the top (around the button area) the scrolling is very slow and jerky. This is the only page that I have this issue on. That's what makes me believe the problem is there. The page loads just fine. The borders around the buttons appears a little strange when I mouse over them though. They look very pixelated and they stay that way for a while after my mouse passes over.
