They keep saying they are going to take off Ubero.

Remember this is still an alpha project, also the WU's can take a bit of time.

Yup, alpha for another three weeks or so.

It's also very CPU intensive. A small number of AMD users have reported problems with errors. These seem to be tied to insufficient cooling causing the workunit to error out.

My personal experience has been pretty straightforward with no errors. I've always been something of a chemistry buff so it's my current favorite.

Due to the nature of quantum chemistry, the work units can become quite large (in time, not size) but are nothing compared to a climate model. My longest one ran for 96 hours on a PIII 1000, one person is sucessfully running on a 500mhz.

Anyway, enough of my babbling. Carry on, nothing to see here.

I've been signed up since, well before they had their new message board. And yeah, it's an alpha, but as to projects it's also been rather trouble free for me. Same with uFluids (which actually might have gone into beta now, but has had a high number of successful results, without much to report on).

Actually I signed up a bit before I joined the team here, I think, and was when searching about I saw the listing for quantum chemistry and thought "hmm, this sounds like it could be interesting"...

The WUs are long though, (albeit no where's even close to a CPDN or seasonal attribution result). They do pull in some good points though.

And if some are having problems, it could be cooling related; which reminds me of when some were complaining that the older Einstein app caused their comps to over-heat (before Albert as the crunching app). I'm having no problems whatsoever on my Athlon 64, but I also have a rather largish Swiftech HSF attached to my A64 using Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, with a fair number of fans in my case, so...
