The new Malaria Control is now up and accepting new accounts.

Get involved ASAP as I believe account creation will be cut off at 500 to begin with. The web site is here:http://www.malariacontrol.net/.

I have already set up the KWSN team.

Hope to see you there soon!

Make sure you search for The. It's happened elsewhere that you get multiple teams because of small sytax changes.

Can somebody tell me, how large the wu's in this project are, in terms of memory use?

I can see in the toplists, that the units are fast, so this could be a project for older computers, unless it uses too much memory.

Runs on my Celeron 533 with 256. Takes about 2.5 hours or so.

On mine it seems to take over 30 hours and I have yet to have patience to get through one WU. Since it is taking hours but counting it is minutes.

Thank you, guys, but it is the MEMORY USE, I was looking for.
There is plenty of time use info in the top participants stats on the project website.

If the machine doesn't have the required memory, then it will tell you to bugger off when you try to attach!

How nice. Confused However, I'm not asking about the required memory, but the actual amount that the client program uses, as reported by Windows Task Manager.

Hang on a minute...you want to know how large the wu's in this project are, in terms of memory use? Laughing

Task Mangler reports that Malariacontrol uses 80 Megs!

I think he was given his answer much too readily Confused . It would've been better were he asked to explain his question several more times before ceding an answer. Please, all of you, endeavor to be more obtuse. It's the KWSN thing to do Cool .

I am quite certain it uses memory of the computer variety. How much? I am sure it uses all that is needed.

Were you asking of memory as in lapses, or virtual memory, or no memory. Inquiring minds want to know. Laughing

I was going to mention the beautiful plumage of the work units, but we received a cease and desist order from the legal council of John Cleese because of potential copywrite infringements of certain sketches of a humourous nature.

Memory -
* If it's there and you can see it -- it's real
* If it's not there and you can see it -- it's virtual
* If it's there and you can't see it -- it's transparent
* If it's not there and you can't see it -- you just erased it!

Which type do you have?
