We're actually trying to dream and plan a vacation to Disneyland. If you don't mind telling, where did you stay? Did you get one of those packages that included the food? Did you do SeaWorld and Universal and Nickelodeon as well?
Hope my husband and daughter lose their minds so I can sleep. _________________ Confucious say, "Man who lay girl on hill, not on level"

Ok, here goes......
We went to Disney World in Florida, not Disney Land in California, so some of the information might be different between the 2 places.
We did not do Sea World, Universal or Nickelodeon. We stuck with Disney. It was the kids first time there & there is a lot to do there so that is what we did.
We booked the whole trip through the Disney website. It made it easy.
The flights were actually cheaper going through them (for us anyway) that through any of the other web sites that do plane tickets (we compared the same flights). We also used the Disney transportation to/from the airport. They picked up our checked luggage and delivered it right to our room so we did not have to deal with that at the airport.
We stayed at Disney World, in the All Star Movies resort. That is the "economy" priced range of the place. They have a few of them. If you look on their web site, it will tell you what the price ranges are and about the resorts too. To be honest, unless you are planing on spending a lot of time in the room do you really need anymore than a bed and a bathroom? (That is our thinking anyway).
We did not do the Disney Food plan, when we looked at it (the way we read it) it did not seem to be a good deal. Upon further contemlpation and some other info, it may have been the wise choice for us. Food is expensive at Disney.
It was hot (not too too hot - I think it averaged around 90 F (about 32 C)) - but the humidity was killer. We made sure to drink plenty of water and stand in the shade when possible. Since my wife and kids are very fair skinned (that's what I get for marrying Irish) we used a paint roller to apply the sunscreen every morning & reapplied it a couple of times durig the day too. On the plus side any rides that were inside were also air-conditioned too. It rained several times while were there, a couple of times it was Noah-like rain (I was calculating cubits and the animals were lining up 2x2 during those times).
Make sure of the height of any kids you take. They are pretty strict about the height requirements there. Most of the rides with requirements were 44 inches (1.12 meters). Some had a requirement of 48 inches (1.22 meters). Thankfully my son had new sneakers and stood up straight and cleared the height requirements. He enjoyed getting measured too. There are a lot of rides that don't have the requirements, but the popular rides (and most of the roller coasters do have them). The requirements are shown on the web site.
By staying at Disney, we were able to get into selected (1 per day) parks an hour early. They also had some of the rides - usually the popular rides - open then too. So you could ride them without much of a line & hit the other rides later on without many lines too.
Disney also has busses to take you from the resorts to the parks & back. Some of the buses also go from park to park too, so getting around is fairly easy. There is no extra charge for that.
We were unable to go to the waterparks while we were there. The couple of days were were going to go, the parks had closed admission because they had reached capacity and another time there was a thunderstorm, so no one was allowed in the water because of the lightning.
I think I covered everything, if you have any other questions, ask away & I'll try to answer. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

So you are the king's father. Not a bad position, anyway.
I suppose you will be ruling until he gets 18. Do you need a prime minister? I have no experience, but I will get a lot of taxes for you. And get rid of Robin Hoods and other enemies. _________________

Oy! you lot stop stealing our history, well Europes anyway as we stole most of it as well, but thats besides the point, you can't steal it anymore, we might not mind, but you steal it so badly, (example:- braveheart), so you just go to your sons room and get that sword back and return it at once to it proper place, OK!

I forgot to mention in my Disney post above....
The waterpark option for park admission the listed on the website will charge you an admission for each day you buy tickets for park admission. You might be better off not including that option and just purchasing the tickets for the waterparks seperately when you get there if you don't plan on going to the water parks everyday. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Oh, no, no, no. I agree with Sir Cracked with all that about Europe and History. Being the king's father doesn't necessarily make you also king. You may be simply a Regent 'til he get's 18. Hehehe. you know, we europeans know it well....., too many years living under a nasty monarchy. _________________

Fine. I may not be king, BUT I shall be the regent for 13+ years. So I shall start by declaring the fortress as part of the realm. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Right that's it, "No taxation without representation" and all that stuff, we are revolting, and declaring independence, we shall have the Tilbury tea party and dump all you Humvee's in the harbor.
The war starts here to remove the unjust oppressors. Down with the king, and his evil regent prince Mohrorless

So it took cuteness and not brawn to get the sword from the stone.
Sounds like you all had a good time.
Righto then, carry on. The peasants are revolting, and trying to oust the evil Prince Regent. _________________ My brain hurts.

That's right, you guys are revolting....in fact you guys stink on ice
Who said there would be no representation.....you guys can start campaigning to elect some reps fpr yourselves. We can call it the voice of the people. You can start campaigning here. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Well, well, well, so... come on. To be myself declared head of the revolt for the overthrowing of the king Mohrorless I, I promise every peasant who supports me, a piece of land double size his actual one, and a 3 month period time of integrating the people's goverment, with ever lasting guaranteed voting comission for the communal elected representatives (hope i have expressed myself fine) _________________

I believe you are mistaken too, as it has been stated that I am NOT a king & I have also stated that I have no problem with representation for the people. You just have to get the "Voice" created. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Well hello. Everyone knows how Arthur got his first sword. It wasn't muscle power that pulled the sword out of that stone, it was cuteness. _________________ My brain hurts.
